Excellent build!

I wish I was able to tune my MK5 Supra without having to pull the ECM and ship it to FEMTO in Russia or Finland…wherever they’re located now.

These are the ones I have -

https://motorsporthardware.com/produ...e-nuts-14x1-5/

With this locking set -

https://motorsporthardware.com/produ...4x1-5-14x1-25/

One thing to note is even though the locking set says it's a 17mm socket, it's actually a 19mm one.

How did you end up picking the 90mm studs, they match up so perfectly to the length of the bolts it looks amazing. I want to convert to studs but want to make sure I have the right length to do the same as yours. I am not running spacers, so is 90 what I should order to match yours?

Thank you

So I bought a 2 single studs from ebay - one 82mm and one 90mm. I test fitted them on the car and the 90mm sat better with the 10mm and 15mm spacers. I didn't like how the 82mm stud sat with the 15mm spacer so opted for the 90.
Also from a safety point of view, the 90mm stud has more thread for the nut to screw onto.

Without spacers, I think the 82mm might be okay. Are you using these with aftermarket or OEM wheels? Different wheel lug holes can make the nuts sit differently.

I was speaking to someone who has had studs on his car for a while. He advised to check the torque of the stud (33nm) once a month. He said even with locktite, it's best to check that they are still torqued up and haven't become loose.

I emailed the motor sports guys, they said without spacers I should get a near-perfect match with 75mm studs so I ordered those. Will try them this week and if I really have to, I’ll adjust it.

Remus Exhaust - Fitted!

Finally got round to have the exhaust last weekend. Even though it is/can be a DIY job, it was just easier and quicker to have my local specialist do it.

Overall, I very pleased with the new look and the sound! I wasn't sure about the 550i diffuser at first as it doesn't look very aggressive. Having had it wrapped in Gloss Black made it a little better to look at. Seeing it on the car now with the tips fitted , it doesn't look too bad in my opinion. I have seen that the M550i LCI does have a slighly more detailed diffuser which I might change to at a later date (just need to wait for the part number to be available on realoem)

In terms of sound, it is so much better. I have not tried cold start yet with it - but I do have GTS roar and mild burbles set in BM3. Under load - the car sounds more alive with a deep bassy tone. I'm glad I listened to buddyboy 's advice and went for the axel back. I already have a res delete on mine so didn't need to Remus mid pipe. It's plenty loud enough for a daily driven car.

I did notice the spring clip for the valve rattles a little (My OEM exhaust used to do this). I solved the OEM issue by pulling the spring outwards to create more tension between the actuator and the valve slot on the exhaust. I will try and to the same on this one. Other then that, I'm really pleased with the way this modification turned out

I need to capture some sound clips which I will share when I have some.

Those tips look great, but then again, im a bit biased! there probably is a bit more upward adjustment on the exhaust hangers if you want to raise it up closer to the diffuser a few mm.

Looking forward to a few sound clips to see how it compares with your res delete

Hey, I stumbled on your build thread about a month ago. We just received our bluestone 540i a few weeks back. Love the car. I was disappointed to find my Carly app doesn't yet fully support a '22 G30. Curious what coder you are using? I really would like to disable auto start/stop at a minimum, and that is one thing I currently cannot do with Carly.

Second question - assuming you are not using Carly for coding, what OBD dongle did you buy to go with it?

Can't you just turn it off? Default is "remember last setting," IIRC.

Hey, congrats on the new car!

I initially bought the UniCarScan OBD Dongle to use with Bimmercode. I was able to disable start/stop, stop the horn from sounding when the car was locked but the engine left running and code a few other things.

https://obd2scanz.co.uk/product/unic...immercode-bmw/

I currently now use the MHD Black WiFi Dongle. I bought this to use with XHP and BM3. Works fine with Bimmercode and Bimmerlink too.

Let me know if you have any more questions

Thank you for this. I will take a look at the MHD dongle and the Bimmercode app. I like Carly, but there is no ETA on support for this new G30.

Mine is a 2022 model. The button for shutting off start/stop (below the start button) is missing in our car. I am not home or I would post a pic of it. Seems like someone obligated BMW to prevent shutting down this capability for cars sold in the States.

For now I choose Sport Individual whenever I start the car, which locks it out, but I would prefer to just shut it off permanently no matter what mode we set.

WOW!! Is that de-contenting? Must save BMW all of $.98 to eliminate that part of the switch. Maybe they had a bunch left over.

LCI Tail Lights...

After having these delivered and lots of rain all week, there was some sunshine today so took the opportunity to fit the LCI tail lights!

For this modification, there is 2 options - OEM retrofit by a specialist/BMW dealer or an aftermarket plug and play. From.what I understand, the OEM option involves the car to be updated, coded and an additonal wire to be run and repinned. Straight away this option was a no for me as I don't want the software to be update on this car and risk my DME being locked for any tuning. If the OEM lights were plug and play then I would of jumped on these!

So to me, my only option was the aftermarket route. I've watched these lights sell on various platforms and they have sold alot - all with mainly positive reviews.

It's always a risk with going down this route but I chanced it - made an offer to the seller and they accepted.

The Install - It wasn't too bad stripping the car down. Took my time and also used masking tape around the lights to avoid any paintwork damage.

Really happy with the way it looks now. You don't see many Bluestone Metallic cars in an LCI, let alone these lights - a nice refresh to the back of the car.

I'm going to order the Golden Wrench Blackline Overlay Kit for the reverse/rear fog light lens. Had this on my original lights and think it finishes the lights off nicely

https://***********************/coll...roducts/f90lci

Running the wire to connect the 2 lights on each side together - it was easier then I thought. I left lots of loose cable so it doesn't snag when the bootlid is opened and closed.

The only thing I don't like is the gutters and drip trays. I have ordered an OEM set from a main dealer (£96 all in inc discount and delivery for all 4). The fitment of these ones that came with the lights is awful. One side already has split on one of the rubber joins and it doesn't mould around the light house as you would expect. Hoping the OEM fit and sit much better then these.

Lining up the lights each side was okay - didn't require too much tweaking. The right side could do with a little alignment again but I'll do this when I change the drip trays.

I fitted the OEM drip trays/gutters the other day. Have to say, the fitment is so much better than the ones that came with the lights. Everything now sits snd seals up very well.

Still can't get over how much the back of the car has transformed! If you're on the fence about doing this, just do it!

Had the chance to get a few more pictures of the lights...

Damn man. Major envy over here. I just got my Bluestone a month back. I haven't done much to it. Just saving up for a few things. First thing is the tints. I live in REALLY hot weather, so tints are a must.

But my question to you is: how much is your car lowered?

Congrats on your new car

It's lowered 30mm front and 25mm rear. It's on a MSS Height Adjustable Spring Kit.

759i Wheels

After some unsuccessful attempts at trying to sell these, I've decided to keep these wheels and tyres and use them over the winter months.

Some of the diamond cut face started to show signs of milking/corrosion. I've now had the wheels redone in a Satin 'Performance Bronze' finish. I'd narrowed it down to either this or Gloss Black, but decided to go for something different. I think (hopefully) it will work against Bluestone Metallic.

Just need to get a new set of 56mm centre caps and protect the wheels with C5 Wheel Armour.

Thanks! And is there a mechanical reason to be 5mm lower on the front than rear? Or just aesthetics?
