Color combo for MY2020 540i
Really confused putting an order in for a 540i M sport
Going nappa leather definitely so that leaves me with following options: Mediterranean Blue with Ivory Nappa Mediterranean Blue with Mocha Nappa Carbon Black with Ivory Nappa Carbon Black with Mocha Nappa Dark Graphite with Ivory Nappa Currently driving an F10 with Carbon Black Ivory Nappa. Mediterranean Blue looks great on G30, however very uncertain how it will go with Mocha. Any opinions on suggestions greatly appreciated. So hard to find these combos at dealerships to take a look.

Only you can decide but I generally think a contrast between exterior colour and interior works well. As you have carbon black now , no need to mention that keeping that colour clean and swirl free is arguably more work.
Do you want a change or happy with same colour combo again? Are you ordering or buying off the lot? If ordering then obviously not limited other than in time to deliver. |

As noted, your taste is the controlling one.
My personal preference would be (1) carbon black with ivory nappa; and (2) Dark Graphite with ivory Nappa. As AP said, contrast between exterior and interior works best (IMHO). I am very bored with black interiors. BTW...I hope you are also getting the leather dash. It is Nappa and also covers the door tops and it really finishes off the interior (not quite as well as the full Merino but pretty close). |

Coincidentally I was in a dealership yesterday waiting to get my car coolant low issue fixed and whilst I had a bit of spare time to look around saw a m5 purple (not sure of the exact colour name) but point was interior was all black and I thought it to be incredibly dark inside. Didn't like it personally , the Ivory does brighten it up quite considerably

Another combo to consider is Bluestone Metallic with Cognac. For some odd reason its not available in Nappa leather which is a shame |

I do agree that cognac is a good looking color. If the OP can wait for a special order, the caramel black merino is like a better cognac. |

Nappa is the only option.
I think it's hard to spend $60-$80k and get a very old leather type, arguably grainy and less plush from the E90 era. Vernasca is slightly nicer on the G20 but not available on G30 Appreciate the inputs and opinions, inching closer to decisions. Looks like Mediterranean blue or carbon black with mocha nappa could look quite odd.

Here's another vote for Med Blue with Ivory. I've done that twice (F10 and F30) and it's a stunning combo, IMHO.
OK, maybe it wasn't Med Blue both times, but it was a nice, bright blue with ivory...

I may be a bit biased but +1 on the Med blue with either Ivory or beige. I personally don't think mocha interior goes well with Med blue but that's totally subjective.
Good luck with everything |

I'm happy with my med with mocha interior but I would have liked to have the ivory or smoke white interior. Just didn't want to deal with staining or kids in the backseat.

Since you're driving black now another option would be Imperial Blue & Mocha. That's the color combo I went with on my 530e and I love it. Depending on time of day and how much light is hitting the car is skews from a black look to something closer to Med. Blue.
Also nice in that the color is very rare. I see Med. Blue everywhere on BMW cars here where I am in the NE, but Imp. Blue is rare. |
