genuine M5 mirrors

Due to covid boredom, I am thinking about adding m5 style mirrors to my 540i.

It seems that for oem fitment, you need both the covers (51168073273/51168073274) and the support brackets (51168064655/51168064656).

For a similar cost, I have seen the genuine M carbon caps for sale. First world decisions.

Has anyone already done this?

Found this on a russian website, seems feasible:

Anything from F90 should work on G30. Proof is in this turkish video of a full G30 to F90 conversion using a 520i:

Part of me thinks this looks cool, the other half thinks it’s in the same ballpark as putting m badges on a 316i se.

IMO M badges, especially M badges with numers, is probably the worst you can put on non-M cars. I do however have no problems with adding some cosmetic elements from M cars on a non-M car. Just don't go too far like in the video above, turning the entire car into an OEM M5 on the exterior while still having running a 184hp B48 engine.

I’ve been told by one seller that these part numbers are left hand drive only, pretty sure that there are no differences between lhd and rhd cars?

Not sure tbh. If they state that it's only for lhd, then the safest bet is to look for rhd unless the seller accept returns.
