5 Series Configurator

Does anyone have an idea when we will be able to go online and configure a 2021 5 Series in the US?

My dealer was able to do it but I want to visualize it myself before ordering. Also, the dealers aren't giving incentives or loyalty cash just yet.

No idea. I’ve been checking every day. Hoping for 8/1 maybe. The 2021 3 Series configuration went up last week. Program information would help, too. It’s about time for me to order to replace my 2018 540 and I’m trying to decide what I want—may move up to the M550, maybe another 540 and also toying with the M340.

Yeah, it pisses me off when they still have "Build Your Own" on vehicles that they are no longer producing.

Yep - very poor on BMW’s part. I don’t get it, unless they have to have EPA approval first? Just makes no sense.

Are selling this 2018 540i? Or, return it back to the dealer for a trade-in?

The German Visualizer is updated for MY21. The only problem is it"s in German and the options are not the same.

Petie - Returning to dealer; Lease is up. It would be a good one to buy as it is very well equipped and probably looks better than the day I picked it up! I am meticulous with my cars to the point of diagnosis. Ha.

Yeah I've seen it. Actually used it to visualize what a '21 Bluestone would look like.

I did the same to decide in my car’s color. My 21 M550i is now on the ship bound for the USA.

BMW Canada website is showing pictures and descriptions of the 2021 model, but the configurator is still for the 2020. Probably won't be much longer now before it's all updated.

2022?

At this rate, I hope someone is working on the 2022 US configurator!

BMW UK 2021 configuration is available ... at least you don’t need to read German to use.

Confirmed US 2021 5 SERIES CONFIGURATOR IS LIVE!

Little bit buggy i've noticed and slow to load (could be traffic). Some of the same colors seem a little off in comparison to PY model.

Glad it is finally up. But my dealer is telling me the Shadowline Package isn't compatible with M-Sport package. Does not make much sense especially since it can be equipped in the Configurator

And so it is!

I built/ordered my M550 on Monday at my dealer.

Diverging from the ordering guide, where ventilated seats were $500, they appear to be no charge here unless that’s an error.

Also, at least on the visualizer, we do not seem to be getting the enhanced climate control display panel.

I noticed that too, on my build sheet for my 2021 M550i, they are charging me $500 for ventilated seats but on the configurator, it shows $0. Must be an error. Also, I was too hoping that we'd get the touchscreen climate control like the M5 has but looks like we aren't.

Here's a link to actual pics of a 2021 in inventory at Crevier BMW. Doesn't have the touchscreen climate...

I don’t see adjustable shocks or soft close doors.
