LOVE everything except the M performance side skirt stickers. I just think they take away the lines of the car on the cool colors (red, white, etc.). I just think the red pops more next to the black wheels and black fender grille without the stickers. Plus, the skirt stickers are matte I believe....

Decision time. My X Pel guy comes tomorrow to do my rockers and quarters. I had the rocker decals on my 2018 bluestone metallic and I loved them, but the look was more subtle, which I liked. And then too my wheels were also cerium, so both were a satin finish. Not been real sure about them with my red though, but became even more doubtful two weeks ago with the new 728 gloss black wheels. And then what to do if I ended up not liking the gloss black X Pel covered decal? Waste a $500.00 rocker/quarter cover kit? Nope, not going to chance it. Sooo, removed the decals over the weekend. What really helped with my decision was I found some pics of a rosso corsa M5 with gloss black wheels to compare. Now, X Pel rockers tomorrow!

So what's the latest with this car? It's been too long without an update, regardless of how subtle it might be

He sold it for a Kia Soul and a box of donuts. He couldn't handle the power anyway

Second to the Smokies, my favorite local road is M-22 in northwest lower Michigan. Usually make an M-22 trip 2-3 times a year. Was up there again a few weeks ago and took this shot with Lake Michigan in the background. It's always my favorite photo opp location, in Empire, Mi. I needed a shot of my completed car (728M wheels, etc etc etc) for a screen saver, so I thought I'd share it here. Alas, only about four more weeks until she goes into hibernation for four months, but just shy of one year and I couldn't be happier with the car and my mods.

Not to worry DrExplode, I will be sure to include a nose to nose pic next year with your new M550!

Yesterday, a wash and a fresh coat of Zaino Z2. Today, Ctek on the battery and then the car cover. All tucked away for a nice winter's nap.

Constructive feedback:
I don’t know about blue calipers on red car,
Suggestion: to find someone with a bluestone/ Mediterranean blue that has red calipers and do a swap (keep your rotors and pads)
I have also seen someone custom order a Mediterranean blue with red calipers, why do people do this? It looks so odd (to me at least)

OP, Are you taking pictures with an iphone (known to oversaturate reds)

I like the blue on the red. Mixes it up

To answer your question, I've ordered many cars with caliper colors that some might not appreciate but it's what I wanted

This car remains one of my favorites on this forum. Tastefully done

Thanks for your comments TItan. Appreciate your thoughts. I don't mind the blue calipers with my red either.

Don't you get flat spots on your tires storing it for that long without moving it?

It's only put up for four months. Mid Nov to mid March. Never had any problems with flat spots storing as such and I've done it with various cars for over 30 years now. I don't call four months an extended time period. Some might and some put their cars up on jacks and that's just fine if an owner wishes to do so. Just not my policy. Also, an FYI. My garage is insulated, heated and the floor is finished with an epoxy treatment and kept at 50 degrees all winter.

Spring has sprung in Michigan! Big Red's four month hibernation is over.

Nice pic Greg! Too damn bad that M-22 was a rain out for us. Bummer, but later this year, Phytonic Blue and Rosso Corsa will be game on!

We bought a new summer garage mate for Gloria in April. Put her X3 M40i up for the summer and now the 2021 Miata is her daily driver. Trouble is, we can't leave it in the garage much! Just turned 7500 miles this week. Seriously, I never thought we'd have so much topless fun in it. What a hoot to drive hard in the curves. It's no slouch either, 2300 lbs and 181 HP with the 6 speed. Talk about easy directional changes. Dollar for dollar it's a hell of a sports car value.

Update:

As I recently posted, we found over the past four months how much we love going topless in the Miata. Having found that out there was only one thing missing on the hood of the Miata......... a roundel! Sooo, my 2020 550 in Rosso Corsa, will be going up for sale on this site and autotrader this weekend. Miata sold, picking up a 2022 BMW Z4 next week! If interested, please feel free to PM me.

As I said last week, picked up a new Z4 M40i. Here's a couple shots. 500 miles on it so far and loving it! My Rosso Corsa 550 is listed in the classified section.
