Bergen AutoWerks in Franklin Lakes. If I needed custom tube work, I'd head over there myself.

on these cars is it possible to get a custom muffler put on ? do we really need the ultra expenisve BMW option? i know the 540 has more options but for the 530 it is crazy...

Any competent muffler shop should be able to replace any exhaust on any car; it isn't rocket science. All they have to do is get a muffler the same dimensions and weld it in. Just make sure they know how to weld stainless steel, of the weld will eventually (sooner possibly than later, depending on your climate) rust.

i just wonder what is a good one to put on that is more generic--any thoughts?

What do you want? Loudness? Just a factory-quiet replacement? Honestly, I'd ask the shop you choose.
