She has been dispatched from the factory!! Wonder how long it takes to get to the port from the factory? Anybody have an idea? Is the car placed on a train or transported via truck?

Mine's been in that status since yesterday. I guess maybe 1 or 2 more days? To get an idea, you can look through some of the threads in the forum below and see dates people are posting as their cars go through the stages: https://g80.bimmerpost.com/forums/fo...play.php?f=867 |

The wait is killing me!
Man the wait is killer. I've watched about every video I can find about the car and BMW in general, and it's so hard to wait.
I ordered for the second time (first dealership lied about having an allocation) on September 20th. Here is my timeline so far:
Looks like getting it across the ocean is the longest part for most people. |

For all of you waiting on new builds to move through Quality Check, the port and VPC, I suggest you check with your CA to see if there's a Stop Sale in the DCS system. Cars are still being held up due to missing modules and other components. Those cars sometimes sit in Quality Check or at the VPC for weeks or more waiting for the part(s) to be available. And, yes, it's still happening. The semiconductor shortage is not yet over.
My car I just took delivery of sat in Bremerhaven for 2 weeks and in Brunswick VPC for 3 days before being trucked to my dealer. My car had no Stop Sale holds. In other words, it can move at a pace like pre-covid or it can crawl and take months. BTW, the Genius will not be helpful when asking about Stop Sale holds. You'll need to contact or sit with your CA and have them pull up your order in DCS. If there is a Stop Sale they can enter your VIN into another screen in DCS and get the actual bulletin attached to your car.

My car has been in Dispatched from Factory status since 10/19, I'm hoping it makes it to port today or tomorrow. Guessing it's not stuck in typical stop sale hold areas, but will definitely reach out and check. |

Just checked my status and it says at port. Now let's see when she gets loaded on the boat.

Good news. My 840GC was at Bremerhaven port mid September. Took exactly 14 days to leave on a ship to Brunswick GA. Once it arrived in Brunswick it was released and delivered to my dealer 3 days later. In my 20+ years of custom ordering BMWs I've never seen a car from overseas move through the VPC as quickly as this one did. Hopefully you'll have the same luck.

I'm reading this thread and trying to remember how many BMWs I have ordered in the past... I think it was 3. Maybe 4. I also ordered a Mini Cooper S, a couple of Corvettes and a Porsche 911 S which was and still is the most expensive new car I have ever bought. And probably (per $) the most disappointing.
But that's another thread. My recently acquired M550i was a dealer ordered car, but I told them it was to be mine, so I started tracking it shortly after it was completed. It can be awfully frustrating to wait for a train, or a boat, or a truck, or another train... you simply don't know what's going on, what the wait is for, and that's before we get into all of the supply chain issues that we have today. Sometimes I think it was easier in the old days when you couldn't track it at all, and you just waited in the dark until you got the call from your SA to come on in and get it! Hang tough, guys and gals. It's worth it.

Looks like the car is stuck in status 190 - Dispatched from factory
Saw a few on the M3 forums also with the same delay. Going to call up Genius and see what's going on, but doubt they'll be of much help. Dealer wants to give it till the end of the week, then check with BMW. Trying to get them to do that sooner. In the mean time, I'm refreshing the track my BMW page and hoping for the snag to clear up, lol. |
