Wind Noise from Door Mirrors
If you have a whistling between 45-55 mph from the door mirrors then it maybe that you would benefit from a n application of silicon mastic to the underside of the mirror where it joins the door. From the factory this is unsealed. A short strip of silicon will close the gap and reduce the wind noise.
Done it on both sides of mine and enjoying the bliss. |

Yes, I do. The turbulence is much reduced. As in op above, I had a distinct whistle at 45-55 mph. That's completely gone now.
Inn any case is so cheap and easy to apply, fix and remove of you don't find it works. The secret is to use a very fine bead. I had previously applied silicon to the gaps between the two parts of the mirror shell. This was ineffective for the whistle. I left it as it doesn't to any harm and is invisible. |

Never had an issue with wind noise in my 530i. This car is amazingly quiet at highway speeds.
