I would search out a sunroof specialty shop. A previous car we had had an aftermarket sunroof installed. It wasn't near the quality of the factory sunroof. The company was American Sunroof Corporation. I imagine having a BMW body shop do it right would not be cheap. |

Saws all😂. But seriously, it will never be the same as factory. Not worth the money, aggravation, rattling and potential leaks. Put it on your list for the next car.

Not only are there likely to be braces under there, but the roof sheet metal itself rolls in around the edge of the sunroof to add rigidity and for looks. And the sunroof fits that factory- stamped opening, as do the weather seals. Plus the headliner is different. The only way a BMW sunroof could be retrofitted is to cut the roof off a donor car at the tops of the pillars and weld it on yours. This is not an idea worth pursuing.

I don't mean to be a dick or a naysayer but I'd literally just buy another car rather than take on such a retrofit. Unless you're doing this for a wild YouTube channel or something… 😆

It is a nice option to have, personally I don't open the glass very often but I keep the headliner open almost all the year to see the sky all the time.
But to even bother to think to retrofit one...not in a million years, too complicated, expensive, time consuming and surely a fail. You will have more problems than benefits even if someone would complete this job |

Nooooo!
You are far better off lighting several thousand dollars on fire. The added sunroof will be inferior to one included when the car was built, is likely to result in problems, leaks, and reduced structural integrity, and will probably diminish resale value.
