new to me M550i xDrive in Rhodonite Silver Metallic Individual!

Picked up a beautiful 2018 CPO M550i xDrive!

What an incredible machine - wow!

There could be a docuseries about how I ended up choosing another BMW not to mention this specific model - much less this particular car!

I'll spare you for the moment and go geek out fiddling around with all the settings and features

I do have to say I never would have ended up with this great choice without the help of one of my best friends tron1043 and a commensurate professional Client Advisor F85Matt

Full specs
Rhodonite Silver Metallic Individual
Black Nappa
Gray Poplar
Cold Weather
Driving Assist+
Exec
Lux Seating
Parking Assist
Rear shades
CarPlay
Bowers & Wilkins
Gesture

Gloss black accents are on the way - Sidewall Air Duct Trims, Bumper Trims & Kidneys. TBD on mirror caps. Cerium goes well with Rhodonite but I prefer gloss black.

(for the record I did wear real pants to pick up the car - the interior shot was taken later in the day lol)

I thought this was going to be a sleeper! I take my oldest to target - park on the side with literally no one and come out to this 😂😂😂

Happens to me from time to time. Nice cars attract nice cars is my theory. They feel safer parked next to you lol.

Love it. Rare to see a m550 in that color. Wrap the roof black.

The thought had crossed my mind - wild the parking lot lighting makes it look black in that pic - looks good.

Excellent car - really like the spec on that and the grey wood inside looks superb too, not often you see that in the spec. I do think the ceramic controls finish it off perfectly too.

Beautiful car! I have a very similar spec'd car and it's like a dream come true every time I drive it (especially at night with the cool lights from the B & W speakers)!

Lovely car. I hadn't considered the poplar wood trim before seeing your pic. Very nice.

particulardude's picture captured the look of the gray poplar really good. My wife would prefer something less glossy like an open pore wood, but I really like the color and graining of our poplar.

I like the open grain wood as well. I just never even considered poplar before seeing this car.

Exterior looks like it was painted with liquid Terminator metal.

Also, OP, don't think you're not on the hook for that docuseries now that you brought it up.

Rhodonite is such a nice shade of silver, looks very luxurious. Great to get the B&W stereo as well. Congrats.

First time putting aftermarket wheels on a vehicle. Not 100% sold on the look to be honest but never would have known unless I tried them!

Been on an hour and already thinking hard about springs. Would love any input - tia.

Thank you. The info and the sizes were similar sizes, just a tad bit taller. I just wonder how it would look since mines seem lowered with the adaptive suspension. Also, you make a very vaild point to get all-season tires vs. winter set + summer sets of tires.

This is a real first world problem gripe here but coming up on a year with this vehicle, I have failed to make a strong connection with it.

I was initially very excited to be out of an suv and back in a fast sedan as a daily. The Individual paint was a big draw but those butterflies fizzled fairly quickly although I can't put my finger on why...

It's been driven a fair amount. I do a 50mi commute most weekdays and have taken it up to Northern Michigan twice, one trip to Detroit and a couple up to Wisconsin - from North of Chicago.

I thought the HREs were going to spark something for us - no dice. They are FS here btw

The thing is I have no idea what I would replace it with - not lusting after anything for the first time in a long time. I usually always have a list going. Don't get me started on the absurdity of today's car market. It's been said over an over but it's just bananas - new and used with no end in sight.

Even looking at wildly different price points to this, the only thing I see myself possibly paying a premium for would be an RS6 Avant but I'm not crazy about that interior tbh.

I've even gone as far as rereading the initial G30 M550i press release a few times along with looking up first drive review articles and videos to try and hype myself up about having what is in reality a great all around car.

It's good looking, has a subtle enthusiast vibe and holds more than enough power for my needs. The cockpit is quite lux. I don't know, just not clicking for me.

Toying with a different set of wheels - intrigued by 728Ms. Maaaaybe resonator delete. Maaaaybe the LCI taillights but I'm not convinced any of the above will push me over the moon.

This post looks and sounds staged but it's literally what I said to my wife just moments before she took the photo.

I wish they had continued this color into 2022, I went with Bluestone Metallic instead.
