Hi guys, hello from Luxembourg. So, I crashed my Tesla… are you still reading? I had 20 cars in my life, few bimmers, so naturally G30 is my choice. I'm looking at pre LCI models. I narrowed it down to 2 cars due to the trailer hitch that I will require for my bikes. I'm hoping you will guys help me.
1. It's a cheaper 2017/12 with 87k kilometres on the clock, nappa mokka with walnut, carbonblack on 19'' wheels. Specs wise it has what I'm looking for and BW system.
2. 2018/1 with 68k km has all that the cheaper car does but HK system and also: leather dash, winter package, ceramic dials, 20" individual wheels, black nappa instead and sohostogrey paint, and ambient air, ventilated seats but costs 5k more (euros). My issue is, the cars are 6,5h drive away from me in two different branches of the same authorised BMW garage. Both come with BMW Premium Selection with 2 years warranty.

First world problems, I know. Any thoughts?

What do you mean? Lane assist? I have no idea. That was actually my next question. There is Driving assist plus equipped. I don't know if it works fully in Germany though. And the remote key (app) also not compatible with pre-LCI models right?

Tbh they're both great cars, option wise they're similar, key points for me would be 2VW m adaptive suspension professional, driving assistant plus, comfort seats.

Color wise the 2nd one is really all black, the first one has a little bit more color, more classical too… it's really up to your taste here,

You can't really go wrong anyway

Hi. Okay hanks for the input. The options you mentioned both cars do have. I think the same. Difficult to go wrong with any of them.

Second one doesn't have ventilated seats which may have huge impact on a hot days. On the other hand, some people complain that seats with ventilation aren't as comfortable as the others so not sure what to think of it.

I love the fact that both have the damn emergency spare wheel. Both are very well speccd and have a decent price so there's no mistake whichever you choose.

Yes, I've read these opinions as well about ventilated seats.

I read that about massage seats, not ventilated

I have ventilated seats and they are very comfortable anyway, i've never tried the non ventilated ones but i've got nothing but good things to say on these

Yeah you might be right, in US they come together in a package so maybe that's why I thought that. I have massage + ventilation and I'm not super pleased with the seats as it took a hell of a lot adjustments just so I don't have back pain on longer drives. Massage is also useless option and it is working much better in Mercedes vehicles where it actually makes some sense.

So ontopic - go for the option #1

Never have been wowed by the ventilated sets. My Audi Q7 seats are much more noticeable.

I think the logic was that you weren't supposed to notice it, you just notice that you don't have the sweaty back in very hot weather(>35'C). You become aware when you switch to non-ventilated seats.

Agree, but the difference between the two cars is noticeable. Is it possible the BMW pushes fresh ambient air through the seats where others push A/C air?

Guys, two more question: how do you see the difference between comfort seats and standard sport seats? So all m550i come with adaptive suspension professional?

@ksoze

I believe both are actually sucking air from the driver into the seat, they're not blowing air. Audi is probably better made so you notice it more.

Got my new car on Friday! I finally went for carbon black greatly spec'Ed 2017 model. I have few questions. The car had a replaced anyone with new one fitted 10k km ago. I want to now replace the oil, diff oil, transmission oil and maybe flush it also. What would you recommend as the best oils and fluids? I thought about Amsoil or LiquiMolly. Any experience in that?

Diff and tranny I'd go OEM, tranny more importantly ZF kit is the way to go. Here in the US FCP Euro sells tranny kits with OEM pan/Oil, in terms of brake flush, OEM, ATE are good options for daily driving, I myself just ordered ATE 200 for brake flush. Engine Oil, LiquiMolly is great, OEM is good too, no right/wrong answer there. Ive personally used OEM with my previous F15, never had issues.

I found two issues. One is when I'm driving and the lights are in auto mode, I see sometimes headlight flashes on pedestrians, for no reason (auto headlight not switched on), second, over 120'ish km/h adaptive cruise control reports that radar is misaligned or dirty and switches off. Anybody?
