Piggyback Install (Video)

Is it really this easy? My C63S was a PIA to install the piggy. And don't get me started with the day long process of removing the ECU. You'll have nightmares just thinking about it. If this is the process for the G30 (BMW), I'm all in.

Fwiw I installed the DINANTRONICS Sport Tuner in my 540 and it's just that easy. I was really apprehensive at first (seeing as I've never done anything like this and certainly not to a brand new car). But it's super easy.

The one difference between the DINANTRONICS Sport Tuner and this device featured in the video is the size and shape of the actual computer chip. The Dinan one is substantially smaller and is secured to the car using two zip ties (something I would recommend as leaving things just hanging around doesn't seem like a good idea or safe).

tl;dr: If I can do it, literally anyone who can count to 4 can do it. (One connector has 3 pins, the other has 4.)

The racechip? I'm not sure how far BMS guys are from you, they are in Cali too. They are offering free tune for the M550i which is dialed in specifically for your car plus pre and post dynos

I thought about BMS but waiting to see what Dinan brings to the market. I might give them (BMS) a call.

Oh man please do, i'd be extremely grateful if you'd take it to BMS. Getting very impatient for them to put out a tune now. I've had their stage 1 tune and it worked perfectly, many of my friends run it too with no issues.

Dinan has the SportTronics and Elite tunes available already, don't think BMS has released anything yet for the G30.

Dinan also allows tune changes via a mobile app [bluetooth connection], whereas BMS requires you to manually adjust it under the hood (on the JB+). What level are you running your sport at?

M550i Racechip Tune -- Good Numbers?

Found this on their website -- interesting numbers. I wonder if Dinan stage 1 will arrive somewhere between these claimed Ultimate and GTS numbers. The key to this much power is getting traction, which is exactly what makes the M550i xDrive so attractive. My math says this gets you to about 530hp / 600tq with a simply harness tune. And some might say the stock figures are underrated so the tuned numbers could be slightly higher.

If you look up acefromnj2 had the racechip piggy back which he had to return as it was giving him drivetrain malfunctions

If any of you guys are local, I would love to figure out why it gave problem and get the fixed so others can enjoy the car more by adding the RaceChip.
