The production was fastest part, it’s the shipping that’s take forever. 3-4 days before it makes to the port and loaded on the boat, transit time was almost 5 weeks before the car was stateside. Then it’s up to customers and transit time to your dealer and BMW’s tracking was pretty unless once it the was stateside.

What does Genius/Your SA have to say about the delay? I see a train with cars at the port... In my dream one of them is mine....

Mine sat at the port for 11 days. BMW Genius told me they can sit there for up to 2 weeks waiting for a ship to arrive and fill up. My build was complete on 3/19 and didn't leave the port until 4/5. It's estimated to arrive in Brunswick on 4/23. |

Yes, I think the waiting at the port for up to 2 weeks is common occurrence now. At least it has been documented by several individuals so it's not a one off. That's the issue I had where all the M550i vehicles built before mine seemed to leave the port within days.

But, Genius did confirm possibility of 1-2 weeks at port. I find that hard to believe with the number of ships I see leaving Bremerhaven over the next several days. But only time will tell.... Have I mentioned how much I want my car??

I know what you mean! I was tracking mine every day until the ship went out of coverage. But now that it's on it's way and almost here, I don't worry about it as much.
But then again, it has been just over 2 months since I placed the order so I am ready for the waiting to end. |

You can get a free trial of the ship tracker that will give you realtime satellite location for one ship all the way across the Atlantic. And you can get the car carrier info from Genius and depending on the carrier track them on the road via GPS.. Yep, I'm a techie geek at heart....

However, I feel like m550 that started production during your time are going to have a faster process. |

So it was 4 weeks from order to build. Yes, I was aware of the free trial for the satellite tracking, I just didn't want to bother with signing up and credit card info then having to cancel. Last I checked on Marine Traffic, it looks like the ship will be in Baltimore 3 days later than scheduled. |

I didn't know there was a ship leaving on 4/5, I only saw 4/7/19 and 4/9/19. Do you know what ship your car got on? So now your estimated time on ship is going to be 23 days till it gets to Baltimore? |
