Sure it could!

However, ECU tuning on naturally aspirated cars usually does very little in the way of power gains.
It's a 5-15 hp gain in most NA cars.
I would suspect a PROcede like tune of the 328 ECU would yield gains of somewhere in that vacinity too.
Not worth $1300.

And yes, you should of gotten a 335i.

you can absolutely put a procede in a 328, don't get too down by the negative posters around here!

keep in mind, the product won't add any hp to your car though because you don't have turbos

IT can be done. However, SHv need to reprogrammer the MAP on the Procede to fit on the 328.. YOu know you cant out beat a335i with procede or any sport car high end one.. i would not want to deal with a procede. it is a waste of your money

I think i saw somewhere that jlevi had an ECU upgrade for the 328. I couldn't tell from the web site how much the power gains were, but the upgrade was around $600. I would probably pay that for 25+ hp.

you don't need turbos to add power with an ECU tune.
The turbos just allow a tune to make A LOT more power simply by turning up the boost.
Advancing fuel, timing, spark, etc. can also increase power, as well as a few other minor things.

On a N/A car like the 328i, an ECU engine performance tune like the PROcede piggyback or ECU chip reflash may only provide about 10-15HP/TQ gain, while on an F/I twin turbo 335i, the gains from the same engine performance mod are exponential; in the case of the PROcede, it's currently about +50-60WHP and +80-90 lb.-ft RWTQ. PROcede v2.0 will be even higher. :rocks:

The good news is that if you had a 335i, you probably would have fuel pump problems. Relax, you have a great car.

fyi - high pressure fuel pump problems have been on a small % of 335i's thus far; just remember that on E90Post.com, we represent a small % of all BMW drivers and even if we're a small sample size (that can actually be used as a representative), your talking about maybe 5-10% or less of 335i's have had faulty high pressure fuel pumps.

In this thread below, 16 ppl (who participated in this poll) indicated that they had failed hp fuel pumps, while 33 ppl (who participated in this poll) said they haven't had any hp fuel pump problems. I wonder how many total ppl on E90Post.com now drive 335i's...150, 200, 250, more?

5% is a HUGE failure rate and a major screw up by engineers or production

Well 5% would be a disaster, but realistically we're probably talking about tenths of a percentage. Either way it was a screw up.

Maybe so, but for the other 95% of 335i drivers, it's no problem at all.

Luckly my 335i has a 50k warranty. Not too worried and in the mean time I am really enjoying the ride. It's pretty awesome:rocks:

Bro, I feel your pain.......the 335i is seriously fast. I have ther simple Turbo Tuner and it is working great. Maybe Procede 2.0 some day...

Since no one else seems to have mentioned this tidbit... the main reason for the "it can't be done" is because the PROcede was really made for the 335i's turbos allowing for such immense gains.
