Steering column issues
So I've had issues for a while with my steering column not always going down automatically. I've adjusted it and set the memory but it's hit and miss. Sometimes it comes down fully and most times it doesn't. If it doesn't. Then I have to manually bring it down and it comes down in steps.. comes down a bit, where I have to let go of button and then press again, over and over till its down fully. Going up or sides I have NO ISSUES, just going down..
When car was in for servicing, I brought this up and they replaced the column. They believe it's software. Now, my car is MHD flashed and xHP flashed. Like I said before, sometimes it works PERFECTLY, but most times it doesn't. Thoughts? |

So they replaced the steering column and it is still doing it? The steering column issue is a known issue and I believe there is a TSB out on it that extends the warranty.
Are you worried about losing your flashed tune if they update the software or having them find the tune flash and telling you too bad, not our fault?

Not worried about dealer. The concern was if the flash WAS the cause of the issue. The software was updated when the column was replaced. I just wanted to confirm if this was a car issue or the flash (mhd) issue.

The software update is done because it's part of the procedure in the bulletin.

At this point, I guess I need to go back to dealer. The column was replaced a few months ago and it still has the issues. It's just a pain in the ass.

I took mine in for this (2018 model) and expected the column to be replaced. My SA even said the same thing. When I picked it up, he said they lubricated some piece within the column and that should fix it. To their credit, it's been a couple of months and the column has worked properly ever since.
