BMW doesn’t do MSD’s anymore. How did you get that done?

I have had my car for a year. And this is also before they raise MSRP on M550i too.

Wow, thanks for the heads up fellas. Man I wish they did that here in Denver. I asked in January when I picked up my 5. Nada at that time.

Glad you guys got to take advantage!

It is faster. By a decent amount as well.

My 550 at 6000’ above sea level ran 12.2@114mph in the quarter mile.

My wife’s 240, same day, same track ran 12.8@107mph in the quarter mile.

Her car is a good 400#’s lighter, so the 540 would likely be even bigger of a gap as it’s heavier than her 240. She also has the B58 motor as the 540.

Because everyone does quarter mile runs on their daily commutes. This is exactly why I dumped my M4. Where the hell am I going to really use that much power? Again don't get me wrong the M4 is an incredible car. But I feel the 540 M Sport is plenty for little ol' me.

At the drag strip, just like I did... Why? Because it’s fun, and I’ve done the same with all the other cars I’ve owned. Including my M4.

What exactly does the M4 have to do with my reply to that other persons quote on the 540 v 550?

Haha, this is depressing - here's how things look in Eastern Europe.

Model: 530i xDrive
MSRP: $86.000
Down payment: $13.500
Monthly payment: $1.200
Residual after 36 months: $43.000

I got lucky and my dealer ordered me a 540 and a 550 while I found a 550 to test drive decided. I drove them back to back 540 then 550.

So a good weigh to explain it, is the 540 in sport+ mode is equivalent to driving the 550 in comfort mode.

It's fun and an absolute rocket in a straight line. The extra weight does make taking corners a little more hairy.

Only weird thing is that power band is so smooth and steady that you do t feel the surge like you do in the 540.

As for payment

M550
MSRP $81k
Final Cap $73k

Absolutely nothing out of pocket.

$968 per month including tax.

Please enlight your European brother, when you are writing e.g. 3yr / 15k, is that 15k per year or total over 3 years?

Thanks for everyone's post here so far! This is all really useful as I'm looking to turn in my 4 series lease for a 540i xDrive. I am including the offers my local dealer made me, which are a bit confusing. Can anyone tell me if these look right?

Former Demo model
36 month lease, 10K miles per year

MSRP: 66,300
Net after rebates: 57,981

monthly price w/ 2k cash down: $782
monthly price w/ 5k cash down: $691

Residual: $39,400

Anybody else? I'm looking to lease a new 540i X-drive and would like to see some more recent deals. Any dealers offering a great deal?

Wrong. BMW financial has gap insurance included.

Do some research first before making assumptions....

A lot of research has been done in the past. Gap will not cover and return your down payment.

This was confirmed to my by BMW in Orange County. I offered to prepay my lease and he said it was a bad idea, explaining that in the event of an accident the money paid would not be recoverable.

I used a lease broker who does these deals in the tri-state area. $400 is the charge but he'll get you a great deal (in my opinion). Let me know if you are interested and I'll pass along his contact info.
