Average age of G30 driver

What is your age range as a BMW G30 owner participating in this forum. I'm 39 and getting my new 540i delivered tomorrow. I feel I aged out of the F30 and it's time to drive something a little more grown up. The G20 styling doesn't do anything for me and the classic, modern look of the G30 is understated, timeless, sporty and confident. I think the F30, F10, and G30 wide rear end lend to that confidence.

I think the poll is a bit flawed. You should be asking what our age range is not what we think the average is. Then you can derive the average from the responses.

For me I'm in my mid 30s.

Thanks, made the update. I should add that this is an informal poll and isn't intended for marketing or any other business purpose.

I've been driving 5 Series BMWs for 16 years since the age of 30. So I'm now 46.

Lots more 'younger' owners than I expected... I myself am mid 30s!

Same here! I'm in my 70's. The poll might skew towards the younger side.

Yep, I'm 71, and my M550 loves me....even if the pollster doesn't!

Hi all, I just joined the G30 forum today. Last month I bought a 2020 540i xDrive sedan,
and am getting “re-acqainted” with the 5-series again. So I hope the Forum will re-educate me !

My prior 5-series experience includes a 1987 535is, and a 1997 DINAN 540. But I’ve
been driving an E55 AMG sedan for the last 15 years or so, which I recently sold in favor
of an all-wheel drive solution, given the midwestern winters in the Chicago area. I’ve had numerous 3-series over the years (E36 and E46).

I thought I wanted a 550 xDrive, but after test driving the 540 xDrive, I found
the 540 to be a more balanced car. Only thing I don’t like is to have to rely on the run-flats, and live without a spare....I may get that spare anyway.

As far as age, I was born in 1948...do the math on that !

This is the original poster and the forum loves all of our "seasoned" members! I genuinely welcome all your insights and advice. I do know that after I turn 50 it won't be anybodies business how old I am but thanks for sharing everyone.

Thanks to all for participating in the poll. We are a unique bunch albeit with very good taste in cars. I look forward to interacting and sharing with the group. I have noticed this forum is a bit quieter than the 3er forum.

Hey......proud to be 71 and still interested in cars....driving a '14 650 GC, but ordered a 2021 M550.....and waiting. Almost ordered an 8 last year, but decided to "tone it down, a little".

I was 58 when purchasing the M550i. I want an M5 but couldn't justify the price difference. Plus the new model was still a few months out. I plan to be a car enthusiast for some time yet.
