Had a little photoshoot going

Replaced the cabin air filters. Oddly, everything I've read says says the arrows should face towards the cabin, yet the instructions and arrows on the old filters show pointing towards the engine bay.

Overall not a too hard a job.

What filters did you go with? This is on my list of things to do. Need to find a YT video on how to and where. On my E39 it's super simple. Two containers on the firewall pop open.

The hardest part was getting the tabs in the back, left corner reinstalled. I had to tape the filters in to keep them from falling out.

Grab them from FCP Euro and you only have to buy them once. Pay return shipping and you get them for life.

Keeping the filters up while you're tucked under the dash trying to get that tab in is damn near impossible. I'm definitely taping them in next time lol. Just ordered my replacement filters (intake and cabin) from FCP yesterday.

So which way did you point the arrows? I just followed what the instructions said which matched the filters I took out.

That would make sense. I think I saw both on the list of items they did to get mine to CPO standard. I'll have to look again, I've got it saved.

I guess it all depends. The filters in our 2014 with ~77K miles seemed relatively clean, whereas the filters in our 2019 with ~30K miles were absolutely filthy.

I couldn't be happier with the results both from the look to the sound. Exactly what I was looking for. Drove about 10-15 miles after pickup. He told me it would get louder over time. It got louder just on that drive!. I drove it hard and got it hot. Really just a right balance and note I wanted. I can see myself leaving the valves open all the time even in comfort. Glad I got the remote.

Glad the wait was worth it!!!

I did the same - I have the valves permanently open now. Couldn't not listen to it!
