New Snow/Tire Wheels with TPM sensor error that won't reset

I have BMW wheels and had my local shop install new TPM sensors. My 530 was fine for a few days and then threw a code (TPM Error). My tire dealer stepped me through a process on the MMI where I accepted the "Winter Tires". The code cleared and came back 1 day later. Also, the tire dealer said something about pushing the turn signal stalk for 10 seconds. I don't understand when or if it's necessary. Any help is appreciated.

Did you the TPMS with the correct frequency compatible with BMW?

Discount Tire sold them to me and installed them. Is there a specific one for BMW?
