BMW has already officially confirmed the new engine in the G30. Sales of the M550i were temporarily halted in the EU in early 2018 as it needed a particulate filter to meet new emission regulations. The new engine has the particulate filter and a few additional tweaks to help with emissions.

Dealers don't have any 2020 5 Series allocations yet, above is not true.

The builder online is still 2019 and doesn't have the price change.

This is especially true for the M550xi which goes up about ~$2k.

My dealer also doesn't have any allocations for any 5-series, 2019 or 2020, I got the last allocation in the region for my 550 in late May. I had him check and he sent a pick of all his allocations, 81 in total, none for 5’s. And he checked with sister dealer, none for them either.
