Hey guys,

I’m about ~2500 miles in and I’m starting to have the Apple CarPlay connectivity issues. I know how to fully reset iDrive and reconnect the phone but just feel like I shouldn’t have had to reset or reconnect my phone close to 10 times already. ** also I’m on the newest iPhone 14 max pro **

Think this warrants a service call ?

Is there a specific place where you lose connectivity, such as your garage or does it happen randomly when out and about?

It’s typically when I start the car, the phone is not connected. I don’t lose it when driving and it’s connected.

Right, but is it mostly where you start your car in the same place, such as your garage or can it be anywhere you start your car after every stop?

I have a means to the end with my questions.

I believe every time it failed it was in a parking garage or my garage at my house.

If you seem to be not connecting at a certain location, there could be a wifi interference issue, maybe your home wifi. When at a location where it won't connect to CP, go to wifi settings and see what else your phone is connected to and kill it. There was a section of the highway for me that would literally kick me out of Carplay when I went by it. Also, any chance you set up someone else's phone in the household? Something to check to and eliminate it for now.

All this said, if there is no rhyme or reason to a location where it fails and is failing at the grocery store when you get back to your car, none of this means anything.

I’ll try to kill the wifi before entering the car. Thanks for the heads up.
