Question on OBDLinkMX+ and BimmerCode…
First time user. Confusing directions. I have a ‘19 G30 540ix. One set of directions says the car must be started (and running?), another says to enter diagnostic mode by pressing start 3 times. A third says just to enter aux mode by pressing start with out starting engine. Which is right? Thanks for your help.

3 quick presses. BimmerCode will actually put it in diagnostic mode as soon as you connect in the app though. Most apps require you to proactively do that with 3 presses so it’s good practice just to do that.

Here is a slightly more complex answer and probably why you are hearing conflicting information. If you start the engine, BimmerCode will work but it won't be able to access as many modules. If you use Diagnostic mode, it will "see" more modules but you have to be sure to fasten your seat belt and ensure that your battery doesn't run out of charge. I've done it both ways, depending on what I'm coding.
