Coding

I was hoping someone that has already coded their car or has info could help me out for a 2019 M550.

I changed my display to alpina style and now the M550 logo is gone.

I was wondering if it's possible to code for the M logo on the digital dash while running the alpina display? Or do I have to pick between one or the other?

Thank you!!

I have no idea really. But as a guess I would think your car would identify as either a Alpina or a 550i. Don't think BMW would have a aplina M550i template in the car

After coding to the alpina display, I'm not sure it's identifying as anything.

I've attached some photos, first one is default factory with the M550i in the display

The other pictures are alpina display in comfort and sports with no logo at all.

This is the part I was wondering about. Could I keep this alpina display and code for a M logo in the middle

You can't have both. Alpina is not an M car. I wondered the same thing when I changed mine.

Eghhh makes sense. Thought it could be possible, since the space is just empty now.

Maybe I'll try the alpina logo instead and see if that works.

Thanks!!

You're welcome. I like the Alpina view best in Sport Mode, so I modified my individual sport mode to turn off most of the stuff that would normally be on. This way I get the sport mode view full-time.

Just out of curiosity what are you using to code?

Use BimmerCode. It's awesome and worth EVERY penny.

You can code 'Alpina' to the left dial, and 'B5' to the right dial (this looked ideal, IMO) but you cannot code the M logo while the Alpina display is active (to the best of my knowledge). I went through the same thing with my X3 M40i.

Note - I ended up coding back the default display. The 200 mph vs 160 mph speed limit difference bugs me, the blue doesn't go right with the ambient light colors, and I liked the magnification effect offered on the default display.

Yeah your right, you can only use the alpina and B5 logo on the dial.

My exterior color is Med blue and the interior ambient lighting is blue. The alpina color kind of worked out in my case

I wanted the Alpina as well but I don't have the FULL digital display. when I coded it, the entire dash went sideways by an inch, looked very weird...
