Shouldn't be a problem getting them to negotiate on an order and getting pretty much the same deal as a car on the lot. Any dealer worth going to will just modify an existing production slot with the customer's preferences. The only time they balk is if you're ordering a car spec'd in a way that they are afraid they wouldn't be able to sell it to someone else if you back out of the deal

Excellent build. No heated steering wheel or ceramic controls though? They're small add-ons, but they are worth it.

I custom ordered my M550i and am getting it for $1500 under invoice and 3k in incentives for a total of about $11k in discounts. $92k MSRP

Live in a warm climate, would save the $500 if I could opt out of heated front seats. Ceramic doesn't really interest me either.

Agree with a few peeps here -- I think with the right dealer, you can spec a car that's allocated and still get a deal -- PROVIDED it's a sellable combo (black/black, white/black, etc). Even with Individual, I know it's tough to get super crazy with the M550i as it is -- is Champagne Quartz Metallic with Mocha Nappa really THAT hard to sell? Lol.

But yea, I think the factory is artificially limiting supply to see if people jump up to M5. As it is, M550i specs easily touch $90k, so really what's another $15-20k at that point to get into a lightly loaded M5?

The interesting thing will be what happens for MY2020 when LCI gets the 520hp engine. At that point it's truly the steal of the century.

The current M550iX can get to 590HP and 650TQ with a warranty-safe Dinan Stage 1 for under $2K. Still not an M5 but getting close.....plus the 2019 M5 lease rates are horrible due to artificially depressed residuals.

Not to keep arguing here but I hashed out my deal before my CA even knew what my build was. I just emailed the sales managers at all of the BMW dealerships in my area and said I wanted at least $1k below invoice not including incentives and an immediate allocation.

I got some responses saying no way but a few had very good responses. One said they'd do $1500 under invoice plus incentives and they had an allocation now.

I then told them my build and had a production number the next day.

Also my build has every single package plus Heated Steering, Bowers and Wilkins, Ceramic Controls and leather dash. Probably not the most sellable build.

I dont know whats happening in the US but here in Canada we have lots.
I just got a list with 7pcs that my sales rep can get me in 2-3 days. I have a 2018 640i GC that i got in March and i`m not that impressed with it. Thinking to get a Med. Blue or Black m550i.
