Joe, living with it for a few days, are you completely satisfied with the exhaust? ….any negatives?

Loving it. Drove a lot this weekend and had a chance to really work it in. It definitely got louder since I picked it up. I kind of hope it stays exactly where it is as it's plenty loud for me, but people with it tell me it will take 4-6 months to reach it's acoustic potential. Our cars are so insulated, with the windows closed, it's hard to hear, but this is the case with any exhaust modification be it a simple resonator delete or a full cat-back. But, you can feel the Dinan system with the windows closed and the exhaust flaps open if that makes any sense. When I close the flaps it's totally quiet, meaning the "feel" with the windows closed is gone. It's definitely louder than stock with flaps closed though. Most importantly, no drone, which Dinan touts. This was a priority as I enjoy my B&W sound and drone screws that up.

I am second guessing getting the remote but I will live with it a bit more and if I don't love I will have my shop remove it. What I did not realize is that it removes control of the flaps completely by the car. So if I have it open, it will be open in every mode regardless of shut down and restart. Same for closed. Just too many buttons to push now. I kind of liked Comfort mode being closed and quiet and then Sport opens it up. Switch back, closed again. Now it's manual. The reality is, I will probably always leave it open now. There are other ways to achieve this that don't cost $275 plus labor. We will see though, the remote flaps are growing on me. The other negative about the remote is you can't pair it to the Homelink mirror buttons like just about every exhaust remote on the market, so you have to fumble for an FOB. I ended up velcro'ing the FOB to the top of the windshield on the left side of the mirror much like an EZ-Pass (which is in the same place, other side of mirror). This works just as good at Homelink buttons, maybe better as Homelink can be slow to transmit.

But the mid-pipe and axle-back are exactly what I expected and wanted. It's just a completely different sound, very tasteful but definitely let's you know here I come or go. The tips are just pure sex though. Just love the look. Supposedly I gained 14hp from the system, 5hp from the X-pipe and 9 from the axle-back. Can't say I noticed it, it's just as badass powerful as usual.

I didn't get any fly by's yet, not even at the cemetery. I need a friend to help me with that. Not worth the eye rolls from the GF if I asked her.

Joe-BMW33 glad to hear you received your Dinan exhaust. I'm still waiting for my catback for my 2019 540 M-sport. Is there anyone else that was waiting and have received their exhaust from Dinan?

I ordered the 2nd week of December and the final piece (axle back) was delivered the 2nd week of April. Hopefully yours is quicker so you can enjoy if for the summer months.
