Hey, Will remove my badge in few days as well. Heat gun and a bit of polish should sort it out?

Maybe an old credit card or some fishing line or some dental floss.

Be gentle, use heat, the paint is still soft and you can mar it.

You'll be fine.

Does you car have the sun visor seat belt warning stickers, or no?

I just removed my OEM spoiler and replaced and I think it would have taken me a week to remove the adhesive is I didn't go out and buy a 3M Stripe Eraser Wheel. If you are just removing a badge, you can probably get by with chemicals to remove the adhesive, but it will take you a few hours. 10 minutes with an erasure wheel.

For removal, heat gun on low, keep it moving over the badge for 1-2 minutes, fishing line underneath and pull up and out to keep the string off the paint while "sawing" with the string. You could also dip the string in hot water. Removing the badge is maybe 30 seconds. Removing the adhesive and any lines or shadows is the hard part.

Honestly, just pop them off and clean up the leftover 3m.

You can use dental floss, cotton string, fishing line, or pull them off by hand. To clean up you can use Alcohol, Goo Gone, a 3m Eraser wheel, WD-40 etc etc. If you're worried about scratching paint, it buffs out really easy. You can use claybar lube as well as WD-40 to lube the string if you go that route.

Nice tip on lubing the string.

I've replaced old Z71 side decals on a Tahoe and I always remove the dealer name lettering that's come on cars after purchase. Here is my method (similar to above):

Hair dryer or heat gun on low. Keep it moving and warm up the area. Use dental floss (up and out) to remove the letters/numbers. I would use something like an edge less microfiber rag with some goo gone for the adhesive. You can also get plastic razor blades if you want. The adhesive will come off, you just have to be patient. Once it's off, I always get a rag with warm water and soap to go over the area and remove whatever goo gone or alcohol or other chemical residue might be left. Then rinse it off and dry it.

It's really easy. Time all depends on the adhesive. I've had it take 10 minutes and I've had it take 30-40. It helps not to try when the outside temp is low. Warm day helps.

On my recently removed spoiler, I bought 10lb fishing line:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

My prior experience removing 3M adhesive with dental floss was that is breaks pretty easy. I literally cut a 4 foot piece of this fishing line and it held up for the complete removal of the factory spoiler. I did heat up the spoiler with a heat gun, but I honestly don't think I needed to. I did dip the string in hot water a few times but I am not sure I needed to do this either. It really cut through like butter. I've got a lot of fishing line left, I may have to take up fishing. I put painters tape down along both edges of the spoiler to ensure I didn't scratch it, but I was extra careful to pull up on the string to keep it off the body as it cut through the adhesive. As I said, I think I would have been at it until Christmas removing the adhesive if I didn't go out and buy the wheel. I tried every chemical in my toolbox - Goo Gone, WD-40, etc. with heat and that shit wasn't coming off. 20 minutes with the wheel and done. I am sure smaller areas can be achieved with just chemicals as it did work for me on the smaller project I referenced, but anything like a spoiler, $50 bucks for the 3M erasure wheel is worth every penny. Go easy and you will be left with a micro thin layer of adhesive that the chemicals will finish off easily. I am sure you could get it to 100% clean with the wheel, but I wanted to stop at the micro thin layer to avoid any chance of hitting the actual paint with the wheel. The thin layer came off easily with Goo Gone. Then as you referenced, I cleaned the area with alcohol to strip the Goo Gone and also strip any ceramic coating so the new adhesive had a completely clean surface. I also used 3M adhesive promoter after the alcohol.

Those 3M wheels are awesome! I wish the teenage me knew that when I first attempted to remove badges a long time ago. 5 mins with the wheel vs 45 mins and elbow grease, the wheel was worth every penny.

The only thing I'd add is that if you have left your badges on for a while and decide to take them off, you may see some fading. I bought mine used and when I took them off you could still faintly see the outlines from the badge. Some light buffing did the trick, but just something to consider.
