I ordered mine without the badge because it looks more discreet this way. I'd rather not get keyed for inspiring jealousy. It COULD be a very practical, very modest, environmentally correct diesel. Or it COULD be a fire-breathing, high-performance monster.
It's also kind of fun because just the other day some people in an SUV pulled up next to me to ask what it was. |

If I'm going to have a stelth car with as much go as a new m3 I would like to have at least a small badge to give it away. I see the point about not badging a non ///M car as such. The 135 parcticaly is an M car and bmw could have badged it as such pretty much how it sits with its M sport tuned suspension and big engine and more advanced braked than even the M gets. I think the only reasion they didn't was because they didn't want to use the M1 name so basicly they call it an M sport but keep the 135i badging on the back.
thats my take but I am not a hard core bmw guy like many of the people here so my viewpoint may be Taboo. can anyone think of any other bmw performance car with this much effort and M division attention that didn't get the ///M badge? I think its just so they wouldn't reuse the M1 name. Its got M badges everywhere but the trunklid. wheels, steering wheel, shifer. do they do that with any other non M car? |

how about the old IS's or CSI's ?
I debaged mine Sat, picked her up last Thu, used fishline and then the glue residue came up really easy (being fairly fresh) by finger (a little rubbing, a little nail) - can take a pic later. Quote:

I cant help but feel deviant being debaged. I always find it funny watching people at the beach or work trying to figure out what model BMW they are looking at, they just look puzzled and keep muttering to themselve WTF is that.

debadged 1ers look cleaner and allows you to see the rear end with out distractions.

ummmmm, matter of fact ...... yes. Didn't quite get the cleanest cut though, was on jackstands - on my back - wrestling a sawzall, but close enough as the big ol' clamps cover enough. the exhaust is amazing IMO.
...also threw in the Helene Filter panel....... |

What's funny though, I asked to have it done at the dealer, and they say it's a tedious process. They cannot guarantee it will not break, and it's $200 to replace the badge. Bull. A bit of floss and it was off in 10 seconds. Add some GooGone, pulled the adhesive off cleanly. Waxed and away you go.
