For what it is worth, I have the Dinan Piggyback on mine and I don't remove it when bringing it to the dealer. They could care less. Dinan now offers a Piggyback for the B58. The JB4 and Dinan Piggybacks are really considered mild tunes (+50 to 80hp). I am still under warranty.

I'm also like you, I don't even drive it hard, but it's another toy to play with. When I step on it, it definitely performs. I did mine right after I bought the car a little over a year ago, like a week after I took delivery.

As per 540iSUP it still had the factory boost setting. I did notice a improvement in performance in both Sport and comfort. IMHO these cars are pretty quick in stock form but definitely a noticeable improvement with the JB+.
A couple of observations when installing.
1- appears a critter started to nest on top of engine ( never looked under the cover previously) fair amount of leaves had also accumulated under there. Nothing a quick vacuum could not handle. Poked around a bit but did not see any damaged wires etc.
2- The grey retainer clip where the harness meets the charge pipe was missing. Wondering now if the previous owner had a piggy back. Note to self to check more carefully when purchasing used/CPO.
Looking forward to getting it out on the highway. As with other mods I hope the performance bug doesn't bite too deep
Oh Pete, there are lots of bugs that bite you with these cars - performance improvements, exhaust, spoilers, diffusers, spacers, tail lights, puddle lights, floating center caps, touch screen climate panels, .....

Nice job on the JB4 and even better you got it from a quality guy.

Yea Joe. It just keeps going. I have CF steering wheel trim and new paddles that need to be installed. Thinking DIY as I got one price of 400 and a second for 575 for install.
So far so good with the JB+. First long road trip tomorrow up the NJ turnpike from DE up to Long Island for a long over due trip to see my mom.
I am trying to exercise some restraint on future spend on this car. Although the MST intake has sparked some interest on my part. Oops there I go again 😀

It's addictive. I am thinking of the doing the Red M1/M2 buttons. It's one of those things I probably won't use much, but I guess I am not happy unless I am doing something and am running out of things to do. I am trying to use restraint. The kit is $400 and it includes real OEM red buttons. Then probably another $150 for my shop to install it. I ain't messing with no airbag.

My sentiments as well on the airbag. I realize you have to disconnect the battery and let it sit for a while but hearing the stories on airbag removal has me thinking of sourcing the job.
I saw the thread with the red buttons thought about it for a minute then thankfully moved on.

I am likely moving on. I think the Red M1/2 buttons would look cool with my red stop start button, but it is a heft price to pay for the cool factor. I doubt I would use it much.

Quick update on the JB+. Been running with it a few weeks now. Definitely feel the performance gain although took a while (driving cycles) to get the most out of it.
What's interesting is that I had a service appointment today so removed it out of an abundance of caution. Wow the difference was night and day, I really felt the performance degrade. Needless to say I reinstalled this afternoon.
Moral of the story it just plain works😀

Nice, I love that feeling of you don't remember what you are missing until it's gone. I had a similar experience today with spacers. I removed mine two months ago and got them back on today. There are varying options on whether spacers impact handling, but let me tell you, the minute I got in the car I could feel the difference.

On my Dinan tune, I had it installed maybe a month after I bought the car and I really didn't drive it that much before I got it tuned, so I never really had a great comparison. I don't remove it for the dealer either. It has never been removed. But I do have a jumper plug on the unit that I can remove to go back to stock. I think I will pull it one of these days.

I also made the mistake of test driving an M5 today. Holy crap that thing was a beast. It was a 2020 non comp had about 25k miles. They were asking 90k which is way too rich for me.

I think JB+ is the direction I'm leaning but I think it will still be another year or so before I'm ready to pull the trigger. I appreciate the thread and updates.

Not to derail, but Joe do you mind telling me what your people charged to put the spacers on? Hour or so of labor?

I'm still contemplating and you saying you feel the difference makes it tempting. I can't think of any downside risk. Anything I'm missing?

Just looked at my invoice from the initial install. $36.42 labor to install all four, new bolts and cleaning the hub. I did have them source the spacers, so I'm sure they made a little money there. They charge me Dinan website prices for everything. I'm guessing they get 10%.

Yesterday's install was to replace the front spacers and bolts under warranty. I had developed ticking noises from the front ones right after I had my wheels off ceramic. The detailer over torqued the bolts and stretched them. My shop pulled off all four a few months ago. Dinan replaced both the bolts and spacers up front. Not sure this qualifies as a downside, but worth mentioning. I honestly don't know of any downside to spacers.

I took the opportunity to go a little wider out back this time.

It's a really good mod to do, as far as bang for your buck. Seems that way to me, anyway.
