Hard Reset iDrive/Infotainment System

Did you know the iDrive/infotainment center can be Hard Reset? Clears out any potential gremlins. AND it got my car communicating with the BMW Connected iPhone App after 2 weeks of zero communication..

You should be able to do this by simply holding the power button for 30 seconds. No need to hold the mode button as well.

Thanks for sharing this. I assume it will not mess with widescreen CarPlay modifications due to how that is configured. It's probably just a reset of the settings...

OMG... I lost so many brain cells watching that video!

BMW themselves ironically had uploaded a video before this guy made his, which was much more concise and explained the process in 45 seconds vs. minutes of blabbering and incorrect instructions (as others have said, there’s no need to press the Mode button).

Why the F would Google serve up his video first, I have no idea…
