Just got my first Instacart order. Very impressed. Everything I ordered except one item that was out of stock. Fast delivery and got a notice of arrival about 30 seconds before the driver showed up.

It really shows my lack of patients that after reading this I thought to myself "I know I'd be at the door waiting that whole 30 seconds thinking where the hell is this guy" lol.

On topic of this thread I think we're down to our last roll of TP and don't want to hop from store to store trying to find some. Might just snag some from work.

We told our guys to take as needed. We pay for it through the janitorial service.

We just told them if they got greedy, we would stop it.

I had other household cleaners but I got my first pack of Clorox wipes & disinfectant spray for the countertop (using another cleaner & 70% alcohol). I swear to you that people did not clean their homes prior to this. If they did, I'm not quite sure what they used or how often they cleaned.

Local Walmart was well stocked with several different brands of TP this morning. Odd that I find that encouraging, but we are living in odd times. I went with a fairly large list of items we needed and found them all, plus some spur of the moment things. I'm thinking I'm finally glad to be living out here in the boonies away from big cities.

So no need for several industrial cases of toilet paper? Those that snatched up those resources early on just fucked people that didn't plan for having a 30 day supply? Is that your assessment?

I had to pick up a couple of things at Home Depot the other day. Order on line and curb side pick up, pretty well managed by the HD staff and not too horrible an experience although they did mess up my order slightly but I'll live with Lag bolts rather than carriage bolts.

I also wanted to get a few things at Costco cause its next door. I pulled into the parking lot and I shit you not there had to be 500 people lined up, this was 10am. There was no way I was standing in this line that snaked all over the one end of the parking lot. I asked one of the staff how long the wait would be and he said about 2 hours, he said they are opening the doors early (9 am) but there has been at least 200 people lined up when he get's there at 7:30 every day......I won't be going to Costco until this is over.

I'm lucky I guess, we live in a small town and there is a little grocery store a block from my house, we walk up every few days as we always have, they only let in 10 people at a time and we've only had to line up twice since this started and only for 5 minutes. I can get everything I need there so I'll just make due with no bulk purchases for a while and spend a bit more for some of what I would normally get on my monthly Costco run.

Agreed, haven't even tried to go to Costco since this all started, no way I'll wait in a line like that...

We haven’t been in any stores in weeks. We’ve been using delivery services (groceries) and shipping from Amazon, Walmart, and Costco. So far, there has been nothing we need that can’t be shipped or delivered. I hate going to Costco and Walmart even when there are no infectious diseases in circulation and am not going now.

Walmart doesn't do delivery here, but we've had deliveries from Instacart and Rosie. Both of those work well. We use those once a week or so and only go to Walmart when we absolutely need something like TP.

How badly would someone need to buy stuff from Costco to stand in line for 2 hours? I mean people are so fuckin stupid I would never wait 2 hours when the local grocery store has everything Costco has...

Imagine being the next idiot pulling up there and getting in line that's wrapping around a block around Costco lol. People are so stupid I swear.

Walmart doesn’t deliver here either but Walmart, Amazon and Costco all ship paper products and pretty much everything except perishables. Just need to find it when in stock, which we have been able to do.

Must depend on the area. I've been there 3 times in the past 5 weeks and walked right in each time. Wasn't until last week that they had any paper products.

wait, thinking back there was one time I was going to just grab a couple of things and there was a line at least as long as one side of the building. I went on to my next stop. That was in ~week 2 of our stay at home.

Here in Frisco, Walmart and Walgreens both had hand sanitizer. Walmart had lots of TP. And paper towels. Kroger had a little TP But no paper towels.

Wife and I went to Costco a few days ago due to the dogs and cat were almost out of food. It was actually creepy quite with barely anyone there, shocking honestly. This location is usually packed during normal times so it was a nice change for once. They had all we needed minus Clorox wipes that we actually are running low on. Oh and I love that there are no samples right now...all those ever do is block up traffic and make us buy more lol. Oh we even got out rotisserie chicken.

Going on probably like 2 months now getting everything online. So far we have gotten everything we need or wanted. That being said I do need stuff from Home Depot because I'm bored out of my mind and have a lot of projects I could do around the house but need stuff from Home Depot that I don't think I can order online, like custom paint etc.

However the couple of times we have driven past the Home Depot parking lot looked PACKED so I've been putting it off. I wonder what will happen when all the restrictions are lifted? I wonder if people will get use to ordering online and keep doing it or if all the pent up demand will make them unbearable to visit.

Several media reports this weekend and this morning saying to buy only what you need for a week or two, BUT the food supply may be at risk because processing plants going offline and grocery stores may start to limit service to delivery and curb side pickup. What are the chances the public at large remember the first part of that when they hear the second part? Media coverage has made a bad situation even worse IMO.

Herd mentality. Form a line and some people have the urge to line up. Case in point we have 2 Targets within a few minutes of each other near me. Literally 2-5 minutes away from each other. I drove by the smaller one and saw a line out the door around the building and continued down the side. I said fuck it let me check out the other Target. A few minutes later I pulled up, no line, walked in, got my groceries and left. I passed by the first Target and the same sheeple were in line still waiting to get in. I. DONT. GET. IT.

Same thing at McD's here (B.C. of course). There will be 20+ cars in line but no one inside. Walk in, order, get meal, walk out. Same cars still sitting there. The place across the road has better burgers, fries, and fishy sammiches and is hardly ever packed. Go figure.
