So I removed the resonator on my 540 and I cannot hear any difference 🤣😂🤣.I guess there is no real effect without changing axle back. I have done a few WOT and just don't hear it.

Good to know, thanks for sharing. I kept mine in and did a catless dp and rear muffler delete instead, but it is very very loud.

The issue is the exhaust flap. When it's closed it's quiet. If you have it open, there's a noticeable difference.

wow you perhaps correct since I was mostly driving in comfort to get the car emissions test ready.

One thing I do notice is that I feel the pops and crackle alot more.... Not hear.... but Feel it bouncing off the exhaust pipe lol

I am going for the not so loud sound so I opted for this delete... I am adding high flow catted downpipe in a few weeks. That should add some note I hear

Hi,
So i did delete the resonator and flaps on my b48 530i, at first I didn't notice a huge change with the exhaust sound, but after a month maybe, I started hearing a difference in the exhaust sound and higher gears changes/bangs, it's not as loud as a down-pipe but it's awesome.

Hmm, i am curious how good is the exhaust sound with a catted downpipe on a stock exhaust?

Also, you will be stuck with CEl unless you have a bm3 you can delete it,

Mine doesn't have the pops just the gears shift bangs.

Update: I set the exhaust value to stay open always and I definitely hear and feel the difference... A nice inexpensive mod. The car growls more and you feel the stink of those pops... Certainly brings the car alive

Any reputable shop in NJ who can do a resonator delete? I just installed my catted ER DP today, the rest is stock and it's a bit louder, but I would like slight pops and a deeper tone.. my service manager told me he will sell me his MPE next month so Cancelled my dinan order Thinking about doing the mid pipe delete..

are you tuned with that DP? if you use bm3 you can turn on the pops

Could you please share a video? You have the standard exhaust or MPE?

Im curious about it cuz I have a 520i and wanna do stage1 amd reso delete

Do a reso delete then....You should be able to get some pops that way without a tune
