The 2020 530e has changed the charging port light. Formerly, it was a circle around the J 1772 charging port and the color changed according to "ready", "charging" and "charge complete". The colors haven't changed, but instead of being a circle around the port, it's now a small rectangle near the port. In my dark parking space, it's now VERY difficult to locate the port when plugging-in. After I bought my X5 40e, I received a call from BMWNA asking for my comments on things I liked and didn't like about the car. If this happens again, it'll be a point I make. BMWNA, if you are following these Forums, please take note.

My 2019 530e has just a small rectangle charge indicator light next to the charge port.

My early 2018 build 530e also has the small rectangle. Always wished I had the ring too.
