Sorry guys. That should’ve said Rotors and I’m referring to the cross-drilling.

Neither the M340i or M550i come standard with upgraded rotors. The M performance brake upgrade kit comes with them but is an added option like all m performance parts.

Can you help me understand the difference between the red brake calipers/kit the M550i comes standard with vs. the upgrade? They don’t look any different to me. Is the upgrade actually larger?

Bigger discs / rotors front and rear, larger calipers with bigger M compound pads.

They’re thicker and might be slightly larger diameter, I forget honestly… someone posted photos somewhere in here while swapping the brake kits.

yes they're 395mm instead of 374mm fronts and 370mm instead of 345mm rears, with dimpled rotors and bigger calipers with performance brake pads:
