I just picked up a 530i msport and for the life of me I can't figure out how to completely shut off the car (radio doesn't shut off). I'm used to the double push of the start/stop button but that doesn't seem to work. How do you completely turn this thing off? Lol

.....After you select Park with your foot on the brake, depress the Start/Stop button one time only. Then wait approx 1 second and open your door. There's been may time that I park, stop the engine and open the door quickly and the radio remained on until I locked the car. Hope that helps.....

Damn. Really? So the two button start/stop doesn't work huh? Is this a g30 thing or comfort access? I never had CA in any of my prior BMWs

It's new to me as well. My both of my other 2015's are double press. It took me a few times to get used to it. I'd often open my door and everyone nearby could hear what I was rocking out to.

I put the car in P by pressing the button , press once the Engine Start/Stop Button .After that action I pull the lever to open the door .I touch the knurled area in the door handle to lock the car and it completely turns everything off unless I enable Follow Me Home Option

You can also lock the car by pressing the little bumps on the door handle or by locking from the key fob.

What really? I had both an e92 and an f10 and when you hit the start/stop button twice everything shuts off. It def isn't the same with the g30 but then again I didn't have CA with either one of those cars.

The "stop" button kills the engine but keeps the electronics running ("ready" mode).

You can program whether the electronics should turn off the moment you open the driver's door or the moment you lock the car.

I love the fact that the radio stays on until I unloaded the kids and all the items they require. Finally, when you lock the car, it will turn off the electronics and go silent. Nice way to teach other parents at the school a bit of taste in good music :-)

After shutting off the engine using the start stop button, press the radio volume key for 3 seconds to fully shut down the car

It's pretty funny that we've reached the point where this is actually a serious question. But it is. I have no idea what the thing is doing and the manual is no help. I just get out, close the door and lock the car. That seems to work even if the radio is still playing after I close the door. Weird.

Lol, exactly. I'm not sure why they stopped the double push of the start/stop button. Two steps forward, one step back I guess

Too many people complaining on the double press I guess?? Haha.
Quite a few of my customers with F series asking to code it into single press.
I personally like double press since I can leave my wife and kids entertained while I go to ATM or Starbucks.

I was told the radio was program to run for about 10 mins at most, before it switch off on its own when the engine is shut down.

This could be due to the new system whereby your car engine is shut off during the idling speed (auto on and off during drive mode). If the radio is being shut off instantly in line with the engine, it shall be extremely annoying to have your music interrupted and goes on and off, like the engine....my 2 cents of logic...haha.

So, I guess the engineer figure it is better to leave the radio on when you shut down your engine. The factory default mode is the radio goes off once you kill your engine and open your door.

Well, usually, i had occasions it does not. Not sure why...but once you lock your car, it does goes off.

Cheers.
