F11 build slots
Got a call from my UK dealer yesterday to tell me the F11 520d I ordered a few months back now has a mid Aug build slot and a 20th Sept delivery date.
He said he expects that to come forwards to allow me to collect it on the official launch date of 18th Sept. |

nice to hear that your building date and delivery date is just one month.
I ordered my f10 in the beginning of june and got a building slot in the end of june. but my delivery date is set for 20sept. I did not know that there was that much difference between f10 and f11. |

I´ve got a 523i F11 on order. Placed the order in the beginning of June. Haven´t got any news about delivery or build slot. I can give her a call next week to see what happens. When we talked about delivery when I signed the contract she thought I could get the car around the premiere (18 sep) or shortly after.

I think the same thing might be happening with the 2.0d engines. Prerhaps the production of F10 2.0d is getting delayed to allow enough F11 2.0d cars to be available at launch. |

Just checked dealer email says week commencing the 13th September. I used Outlook work out the week number which should have been week 37 for that date.

Just had a look at news stories in dingolfing area - no mention of it there.
Also checked Deutsche Welle nothing on there too.

No news of any flood. Dingolfing normally shuts down for a period of time in August to re-tool the plant, so this may be part of the rumor.
BMW has a pretty good website with a lot of information regarding this plant. One quick fact is that they use over 300 buses daily in the morning and afternoon to transport the workers to the plant! There is a also a good virtual tour of each phase of the prodcution line, with some movies on the new F10. (The amount of wleding that goes into our cars is amazing.) As a side note, Dingolfing also makes the Rolls body shells there as well. I think the site is BMW-Plant-Dingolfing.......google it. |

Got some more info regarding production issues. It seems that a plant in the czech republic that supplies the roof lining and not the BMW (Dingolfing ) plant had water issues.
Minimum production stop : 3 weeks Expected production stop : 4 weeks -rx- |
