I remember Terry chewing those huge wads of gum because he'd quit chewing.

Yep, I was in the same camp on him until that night. This was after the Red Sox let him go he was working for ESPN but was hired to start coaching the Indians. He wrote a tell all book and was in Boston promoting it.
I was at the bar at Del Frisco's and he sat next to me, he was alone. I make it a point to not suck up to celebrities, it's just not in my DNA to put anyone on a pedestal (except Larry Bird). Eventually we started to talk, but he really wanted nothing to do with me, he kept looking at his phone. Then of course a lot of men came up to him and thanked him for bringing the long awaited championship to Boston. He kind of brushed them off like he had no interest in talking to them.
Mind you now, he was alone at a bar that is known for Cougars seeking out men with money. So when all the women came over to him, he was a different person, taking pictures with them and chatting it up.
So me, with three very large straight up Martini's in me, decides to call him out for disrespecting the real fans. He was clearly there to catch some tail. No celebrity would go to Del Frisco's alone and expect not to get attention. He was clearly selective on the attention he wanted. I blasted him.

LOL the way I see it, you should be embracing a 3 martini minimum when you go out. That's great.
