Got the switch installed and followed the directions here as best possible substituting G32_ECE code 2 where G30/Unknown wasn't available.

The problem I ran into is that although the rears work, the inner turn signal no longer flashes. I also did not have "LIC_VERSION_DATA" available to change whatsoever.

Any input?

Wow! I went out to my car to see if I had the same issue and I do. The thing is, the first time I coded using BimmerCode expert mode, everything worked fine. A few months ago my iDrive was updated and wiped out my coding. I redid the coding and I thought everything was cool until I saw this post and went out to my car and checked. Sure enough, only outside lights were signaling.

I'm going to try and do some digging to see what changed.

Not going to be any help here, just sharing. I had the coder who coded my LCI tails code for the rear fogs after I got the switch. Only the driver side rear fog activates after coding. I did some research and it appears that many countries only allow one side to illuminate so the people behind you don't confuse it with braking.

That said, I know someone who did their own coding and have both working. They gave me their code and 90% of the entries for the G30 were not in my BDC file. I did think about using the G32 entries, but I just gave up. Didn't want to mess with a good thing (LCI perfect functionality) for rear fogs I will probably never use. The person who sent me the coding for the rear fogs had a 540, I found it strange the G30 was just skipped over for the 12 or so parameters I wanted to tweak.

Appreciate you checking, interesting I'm not the only one with the issue. Please do let me know if you find anything.

I checked my coding and found some updates. I used Bimmercode Expert mode and noticed that the screens have changed since the last time I coded the rear fogs. Everything is still within BDC_Body2 Module.

I could not find NSL Verbaut

LCE_BEL_LIN_VAR: Change to match your existing switch, plus "NSL". For example, mine was "39_BEL_PL_FLC_NSW_NIVI", so I changed it to "40_BEL_PL_FLC_NSW_NSL_NIVI". This keeps the incorrect light switch variant error from showing up in ISTA.

LIC_LOG_LAMP_2_OUTPUT_CHANNEL_DATA: Change this to "G30_ECE_Code2"

LIC_LOG_LAMP_2_OUTPUT_CHANNEL_INDEX: Changed this to "G30_ECE_Code2"

LIC_NIVEAU_OVERRIDE_DATA_0: Change this to "G30_ECE_code2"

LIC_NIVEAU_OVERRIDE_INDEX: Change this to "G30_ECE_code2"

LIC_VERSION_DATA: Changed this to ( I forgot the exact code but it was the one that contained G30_ECE )

This may be of some help. This coding lit them both up for a friend of mine.

LIC_LOG_LAMP_2_OUTPUT_CHANNEL_INDEX
Current: G30_ECE_code | Factory: G30_US_code

LIC_LOG_LAMP_2_OUTPUT_CHANNEL_DATA
Current: G30_ECE_code | Factory: G30_US_code

LIC_NIVEAU_OVERRIDE_INDEX
Current: G30_ECE_code8 | Factory: G30_US_code2

LIC_NIVEAU_OVERRIDE_DATA_0
Current: G30_ECE_code6 | Factory: G30_US_code2

LIC_VERSION_DATA
Current: G30_ECE_code | Factory: G30_US_code

iF ABOVE DOESNT HELP THEN TRY BELOW AS WELL AS ABOVE.
LIC_NIVEAU_OVERRIDE_INDEX
Current: G30_ECE_code8 | Factory: G30_US_code2

LIC_NIVEAU_OVERRIDE_DATA_0
Current: G30_ECE_code6 | Factory: G30_US_code2

I forgot about this. Are yours now fully functional? Not going to have fog for a while but still would be nice to have setup.

Yes, I checked my lights and everything works as they should.

- Remove the "Entrance Cover Strips", as seen in Steps 2 and 3 on this link.
- Next, gain access to the BDC module by following Steps 2 through 5 on this link up until you get to the part about disconnecting all connectors, as you will only need to remove connector A258*5B, which is identified here.
- Remove the passenger side rear seat backrest, as shown in Step #2 here.

With these steps done, your next step is to add the wiring. Start by unplugging connector A258*5B, identified above. You will be adding one of the wiring connectors to Pin #20. Once this is done, you can replace the connector in to the BDC. Now, run the wiring along the passenger side of the car. When you get to the B-Pillar, you should be able to pull it out slightly to run the wiring behind it without actually having to remove the trim. Next, when you get to the back seat, run the wiring along the factory harness, and you should be able to run it behind the trunk lining to the passenger side arm of the trunk. Continue to run it along the factory wiring here, making sure to secure it every so often with either small zip ties or electrical/fabric tape. Once you get up to the branch off for the passenger side inner tail light, this is where you will split the single wire in to two, with one continuing to follow along the factory wiring to the driver side inner tail light. For both of these wires, connect the BMW wiring connectors, and insert these connectors in to slot #5 on the tail light wiring plug.
Looks like I am late to the party and newtis has been removed. I am also one of the unlucky 2019 G30 530e (US spec) owners that has neither the wire nor the diodes in my tail lights. Could you (or any other kind soul) send or post the newtis PDFs above that I can use to get to BDC module to add the missing wire? I will switch to the EURO LCI taillight so that should solve the missing diodes issue.

No LIC_VERSION_DATA

The problem I ran into is that although the rears work, the inner turn signal no longer flashes. I also did not have "LIC_VERSION_DATA" available to change whatsoever.

Any input?
Hello, did you ever get this to work? I have a 2018 530e and I’m also missing “LIC_VERSION_DATA”. Everything else is there and changed as in Post #18, but without that last line nothing happens. Thanks!

Never got a chance to get back into it and troubleshoot more unfortunately.

Bringing up an old topic...

I'm exporting my 2020 540i to Europe and prepare - as much as possible - the vehicle to pass the road test smoothly upon arrival. Today, I installed a set of pre-LCI Euro tail lights that have the rear fog diodes (LEDs). I also installed a Euro light switch (for a rear fogs only, no front fogs, no lane assistance).

Not completely unexpected, I discovered that I do not have the wiring. At least not what's in your picture. You mentioned that a wiring in slot 1 and 6 must be present for the fogs to receive a signal. Suggesting that typically those slots are not in use. However, I noticed that I have slot 1 and 6 in use (and 2 and 5 are empty). See pictures, left and right, respectively.

Any idea what is going on? Or is this a matter of coding?

I requested Bavarian Performance Group (Winchester, MA) to do the wiring for me but they have no appetite for the work. I'm now looking at Sound In Motion (Watertown, MA).

Thanks for your advice.

Responded to your PM before I saw this. Bavarian can be funny about doing Ad Hoc stuff like this. I’m sure you can find a shop to run two wires from the BDC, especially if you tell them exactly what to do. Here is a schematic, this may help tell you which pin the fog wire should be in if you had it.

Can you send the BDC wiring diagram where to connect the fog light wire? When I coded according to the instructions, the turn signals on the trunk lid stopped flashing, does anyone know why?
