Bimmercode rating
For all you new G30 0wners, I just "Bimmercoded" my 2021 M550 and found the process very satisfying and easy to do. I went into 4 different modules to code ASS memory on, warnings off, "M" startup display, and lane change to 5. Feeling confident to do some more. Used OBDLink MS+, and the app of course.

That is funny. That is how I am, afraid to try expert thinking I will ruin something.
The system went haywire when I tried coding seatbelt warning to off and though I really screwed it up, but luckily the backup was successful. Not sure why that happened. Now kind of afraid to try anything else. |

Some modules will react unusually when coding features. Kombi for example. Sometimes you'll see driver assist errors and other vehicle errors or CEL. Usually turning the car off for a few minutes clears those faults. What does lane change to 5 mean? Not familiar with that coding option. Is this a built in coding option in Bimmercode? I've always used esys.

When you make a lane change the one click will turn the signal on for 5 blinks instead of 3. I can’t get it to work though. |

Coding lane change blinker from 3 to 5
Coding this with Bimmercode just gives the option in iDrive. You have to go to settings and select 5 blinks instead of 3.

I've used Enet Cable and RJ45 to lighting with iphone. Usually wired connections are faster and safer than bluetooth. |

If only Bimmercode can work on anti-dazzle and VLD and make it part of the normal menu. They could charge more as there would be very little need to hire a remote coder.

So if I undertstand it correctly, bimmercode will let you modify existing settings - but if you need to upgrade istep/idrive, that is a completely different animal?
I'm saying that as I'm thinking the code/firmware image has to be obtained from somewhere. |
