Clicking sound in the engine....any ideas?

Just bought the car a few weeks ago. 2018 M550i with 31,000 miles. In immaculate condition and all services are up to date. Day 1, I heard this noise. It happens occasionally, more often I hear it if it's been idling for a few minutes. I heard it first at a drive thru, and heard it again when I was snapping pics of the car and it was idling. Doesn't seem to happen when driving, and there are no codes and car runs fine, temp is normal. I made an appointment and dropped it off this morning for this and to find out why the park assist isnt working properly. Here is the noise...Ideas what it is? Sounds like it's near the turbo maybe?

dealer got back and said they were going to look at belt tensioner and coolant pump. will know more tomorrow.

Since it sounds like something outside the engine, rather than something inside the engine, I am hopeful it is something on the drive belt system, or at least something not requiring an engine replacement....

Wow, that sounds like shit.
I've had a tensioner fail on me before on previous cars, completely locked up, and it didnt sound anywhere near that bad. It's definitely mechanical. Hopefully its wastegate flutter or something relatively cheap to repair.

Definitely sounds turbo-related, likely wastegate as mentioned above. Sounds very similar to when the turbo in my 328i went bad. It used to rattle like that when I came to an idle from acceleration, def not when driving.

Dealer said it was belt tensioner and ordered parts...we will see if that solves it.

I remember the indy said the same thing about my car and replaced it and it didn't solve the issue. Hope it does solve it for you though.
