BMW 530 - Paddle Shifter Retrofit

Hello!
I have a 2017 BMW 530i xDrive with M-Sport package and the M sport leather steering wheel with heating. Only drawback is that it didn't come with paddle shifters.

Is it possible to retrofit paddles on the stock m-sport steering wheel without paddles? OR do I need a brand new steering wheel?

I'm also assuming some sort of coding will be required.
Wondering if anyone has done this before.

Thanks for all the help!

I wish I could be more helpful, but I don't know as well. I know with Maserati, it is as simple as adding the casing and the paddles, everything is in there.

All this said, I may be alone here, but the novelty of paddles wears off quickly. I have had paddles on my last several cars and I don't use them much. I would much rather push up or down on the stalk which does the same thing. It just feels more natural. Plus, BMW's paddles are designed for toddlers, tiny.

Thanks for replying! and letting me know...probably not worth the cost then to add and then code in.

Now if I only knew how to code launch control! Sucks that the m-sport package doesn't come with it here in Canada.

You are welcome. I have launch control and have never tried it! I think I'd shit my pants!

I tried launch control last night… I think I'm done with that.

As far as the paddles, there is a kit you could buy that replaces the trim behind the steering wheel. It also comes with paddles and coding. The downside is the price.

Do you by any miracle still remember where one can find the kit?
