20 inch Wheels

Hi

Just taken delivery of my G30 520d m sport. (standard m sport passive suspension) Looking to change the stock 18" wheels currently on run-flats to 20" on non-run flats and was wondering how much this will affect the ride quality. I'm sure plenty on here have done this and I was looking for some real-world experience on how much roughly percentage-wise did it affect the ride quality.

Id like the look of 20" wheels but don't want to sacrifice to much comfort.

Would you advise just going to 19"?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

20" wheels on stiffened MSport suspension would have harsh ride quality. If you are looking for relatively decent comfort, I would advise 19" wheels since your car is not equipped with vdc.

I had the 18" standard wheels on my old 520 and replaced them with the black 664m 19" wheels with RFT.

Ride quality wasn't massively different...

My 540i has the 20" 759i wheels with RFT and TBH there is a slight difference and the ride is slightly worse than the 19"s and of course worse than the 18"s but it still feels amazing.

Definitely not to harsh on the UK roads.

I've heard the ride is even better without the run flats...

I agree, have a 540 which came equipped with 20in run flats. Rode was terrible. Switched to non run flats pilot sport 4s and wow, completely night and day. Will not go back to run flats. Comfort ride with sport handling. If you decide to 20in suggest non run flats otherwise you will be highly disappointed

I've said this in several other posts, but here goes again. I have an M550 with 668M 20 inchers. Hated the Goodyear F1 Asymmetric RFTs that came on it. Changed to the new Michelin PS3ZP RFTs and love them. Much improved ride, excellent wet and dry grip. Very similar to the PS4S I had on my previous M4.

I've got the Goodyear F1 Asymmetric RFT on my 19"s and the PZeros on the 20"s

I'd love to try a car without the RFTs but I don't really find the ride that bad. Actually my wifes A3 s-line is a harder ride..

Wish BMW would get rid of this RFT crap in all the cars.

I just took off the Goodyear Assym RFT 20 inch on my 2017 540i M and installed Michelin PS4 - first impressions are the street ride is much better, and highway ride is quieter.

It became not and day for me. I hated the ride with the run flats and considered getting rid of it because of rough ride and car always felt like constant vibration. Once I went to PS4, handling improved drastically especially when cornering. The run flats were spongy when cornering. You want be disappointed

F10 327 style wheels on 530d drive

Hi all,

Quick question,

I have a set of 327's on 17 inch from my previous f10. They are Dunlop winter 3D RFT, and I was wondering if they'll fit on my G30 530d msport xdrive. I have look online but I can't find any info on wether they will go or not.

Thanks in advance.

No, due to different bolt pattern.
