Dashboard Rattle

Hi guys,

I was trying to hardwire dash cam as per thread posted on bimmerpost and accidentally dropped a clip in the small gap (right next to AC vent) below A Pillar trim piece. Tried to extract it using screwdriver and it flew and is now some where behind glove box. Endoscope camera could not help me find it but that thing is causing rattling noise when going over bad patches of road & speed bumps.

I am now regretting whole idea of hardwiring dash cam due to this episode.

Anyputs would be greatly appreciated. Also is rear of dashboard accessible from footwell area?

Try a small magnet stuck on the end of something flexible.

Maybe you can tape a straw on a vacuum and grab it that way?

Since its not metal, this method will not work.

Thanks for advise. I tried this but since i cannot see or locate it, i could not extract it. Not sure if dealership may have take out dash to find it, this may give more problems like rattle and not sure will they charge or do under goodwill

only thing i can think of is to use some sticky tape on a thin flexible tube and just snake that about until it snags the piece
