Yes, BMW recommends Shell, which is fine, but on my way to/from work, there isn't one anywhere near me, so my car will have to do without it.
No my comment wasn't about you but more like why Shell? It's good gas but so are others.

Well my comment wasn't totally about me. I just answered your question, and then pointed out that there aren't any along my daily commute.

Why Shell? Because they've paid for the endorsement up until 2022.

Sadly can't get higher than 91 here in Wisconsin 😞 I already treat her when we go south and can get 93 at the pumps

At least you don't pay 50% more for gas like here in California and get crap gas at the same time with lower octane...

Last year, I was moving back to Oklahoma from California and when I filled up in California before leaving, I payed $3.72/gallon. The first gas station in Oklahoma I stopped and filled up at, I payed $2.31/gallon. It felt good to be back in the south!

What should I use? What do you all use?

Thanks.
Ran across this thread about octane and I wondered what you guys thought about ethanol free. Does anyone run it and how often do you fill up with it? Any benefits?

Duh! Oklahoma is not only an oil drilling site but is the principal storage site for oil in the US. It better be cheaper there.

Shell 91 is recommended for BMW's. I usually use Sunoco 93 if possible for my M550i, otherwise I always use Shell 91. It should always do the job.
