Brakes?? 22000 miles

When stopping car, feel brake pedal skipping (best way to describe it). No brake light indicator on. Possible warped rotors? Live near water, always rusty, can that be cause?

Bringing in for oil change next week, going to have dealer look at it. Anyone have any thoughts?

Same when cold and warmed up? Do you feel any pedal vibration or steering wheel/seat vibration when applying brakes?

Are your brake rotor hubs noticeably rusted?

Could be slightly out of round rotors. Could also be glazed pads. Let dealer figure it out. From what I remember, rear brakes may be due around 22K.

Just pedal vibration, worse at speeds over 70mph, still noticeable at speeds under 20mph.

When do brake sensor kick in. How low do pads need to be.

Your rotors need to be put on a lathe. Typically dealer will also change pads during a rotor machining service.

Today's rotors start out relatively thin compared to those of decades past. Usually rotors are just replaced as they are not terribly expensive (although BMW may charge a fair amount for them). If they were in fact turned by the dealer you might want to get them mic'd to make sure they are within spec. I would assume that a dealer would do this but one never knows. If rotors are too thin they are more likely to warp. --Bob

Warped rotors. Re cut but didn't give me new brake pads. Stops without bucking, all fixed.
