I have just ordered a G30 520D M Sport alpine white with 18 inch wheel, dakota Leather - cognac colour. The paid options include: Technology package (Display key, Head-up Display, Enhanced Bluetooth with wireless charging, BMW Gesture Control and Wifi hotspot preparation), steering wheel heating, reverse assisting camera, exterior Mirrors- Folding, high beam assistance, remote services and Apple CarPlay preparation. In total the car costs £42, 239.00. I have informed that the dealer bodyshop would be able to spray the wheel black at £70.00/wheel if I want. It is expected to be derived on the 20 March.

I've made a few changes to my order. I'm going for Bluestone instead of Alpine. I have changed the interior to Ivory and added on Fine-wood poplar grain grey. I have also added 17''V-spoke 631 Style Alloys.
I dropped the Harman Kardon and Replaced it with the loudspeaker System 676. I listened to both systems in two 7-Series in a dealer on Tuesday and I actually preferred the Loudspeaker System. I also dropped the reverse camera as the front and rear sensors should be adequate.

Interesting on the speakers... I also ordered the Advanced Speaker System (676). I have not heard that option or the Harmon Kardon... I just needed something better than the basic one in my F10 which is pretty rubbish for a £40k car.

So you thought the 676 option was better... why is that, clearer, louder, better bass or what? Thanks

Generally with the HK systems you have to

1) Give the speakers time to run in properly (makes a big difference)
2) Set the Equalizer properly for your type of music.

Its difficult to just jump in a new car at a dealer and get a feel for how it will sound

Sound is a very personal thing. I listened to the standard (676) system first. It was powerful and clear. Plenty of bass and good crisp highs. I thought it was really good. I then asked if they had a 7-Series with the HK. They did, so I checked it out next. I was expecting it to be brilliant considering how good the 676 was. But I was disappointed. To me it didn't seem as powerful nor the bass as strong. I couldn't work out whether it was better with the Logic 7 on or off. I only had 5 minutes in each and I'm sure that with proper adjustment the HK would b every good but that was my initial impression. I used the same music in both. I'm assuming that the two systems are the same in the G30 as they are in the new 7-Series. According to the specs they are.

Surprised xenons standard on 520d in U.K. I thought LEDS were on all g30
Shame BMW haven't gone matrix LED had a Volvo loaner and they are in a different league to BMW version. Light years ahead

There's no xenon headlights for the G30.
I sure hope the adaptive full LED headlights will be as good as other brands LED headlights.

Beginning of March the dealer reckons. It'll be a long few weeks! I still kind of like the Cognac interior, but my wife and daughter much preferred the Ivory - which will go better with the Bluestone.

What about seats, just the standards ones? Not sure If I'd order a car without trying out the different seats.

The demo car BMW had on tour before Christmas was bluestone with ivory and it is a winning combination.
If you're getting it in March you probably won't be able to make any more changes soon enough.

Thanks Andrew. I think I'm pretty settled on the colour combo now. I am starting to wonder if I should have ordered VDC after seeing the What Car test of the 520d. But then again the press said the same thing about the F10 and how many people actually ordered VDC with the F10?

OK thanks... I do like good sound... so if the 676 is good enough then fine...I am happy with that... I could have upped to the HK for another £400 but resisted as the cost was just climbing with all my options.

I note from the parts online for G30 posted today, that the 676 has speakers like this:-
- front doors, including tweeters,
- full range speaker+ tweeter in centre dashboard,
- 2 subs and
- rear shelf full range and tweeters
- Plus separate amp in boot...

Must be a ton better than by standard F10 radio

As others have said, system needs a good break in

The G30 system is almost identical to the F10LCI option 676 Hifi system
205W, 12 speaker, small amplifier

Standard F10LCI system was a 6 speaker system (Hifi 676 was standard in USA)

Yes that's the one I saw... do you have any data on the Amp (interested to see if this is plain Bass/Treble or if there is an equaliser...(I doubt it, think that only comes with HK) and number of channels
