Anyone Going to X-Shop G30 to 4'er GC?
For BMW, those would be my consideration set when this lease is over...

Ditto here. I tested a 4 GC before extending my lease (was to end Dec 2016) just to wait for the new 5, so glad that I did. Ride comfort takes a huge hit (coming from an F10 5 myself). Space is also a lot more confined, its much more similar to a 3 than it is to a 5, even though numbering scheme would imply its halfway in between both (but we all know its based on the 3 platform).

Apologies if I wasn't clear. It implies that to a new customer who's never shopped the BMW brand or knows the history of the 4. That being said, since OP's current lease is probably a BMW, he probably knows the # scheme better than the average first time BMW shopper.

When I see the 4GC I see a hatchback. It's a nice hatchback but it's still a hatchback. Maybe I'm dating myself but hatchbacks are fine for the days when I was in school.
Aside from that, the interior of the 4GC is not at the same level but you can order Merino Leather on the 4-series and you cannot -- yet -- on the G30. You can even order a Merino leather dash on the 4-series and all we get on the G30 is sensated. |

Yes, my sig would indicate BMW has gotten far too much of my $ over the years (decades!) and I realize the 4 is closer to 3 then the 5.
I have F'10 right now and like it quite a bit. My 3rd 5'er now that I think about it. I really like the Merino interior on the 4 and the builds I've done on-line yield a handsome car imo. The Nappa I have now is nice, wish a brown tone was going to be available with Nappa on G30. So far it's not.
