The irony in your choice of vehicles is that the SUV is what has been steadily stealing the mid-size sedan market - like the 5 series.
It's a trend that continues - and we will see if the new G30 can stem the flow of customers over to the SUV segment. That said - the X5M is an M series vehicle and will have all the performance you can want plus utility. That said - its huge. And much more expensive. Both are solid choices depending on your needs. Good luck! |

I am hoping that BMWFS aggressively supports an attractive lease program on the M550. I think there are a good amount of F10 535 owners who are interested in the added power, but don't want to be near 750 lease rates.

Beautiful car. Enjoy it. Wish my partner had waited for and got this this to replace our 550i. Instead we went with the X6. 5.0. I prefer your car so much better than the X6. Again enjoy it in good health

I'm so distracted by the guy in the suit (not sure if OP) and his slip resistant shoes.

I would love to have another M3-ish car with a stick and even though i could afford the M3 in addition, I dont really have space for it in the driveway and i would take a lot of flack. The X5 is 5 years old, out of warranty, and im looking to go newer after 5 years. So i'm left with a dilemma, do I trade in the X5 for an X5M, which I can afford, but which is a bit ridiculous? or do i drop down for another AWD car I do like being in a truck for the commute - it has made snow driving on perilous roads a lot better. I also like that i can hop curbs easily in NYC, and dont have to worry about potholes (i used to get flats ALL THE TIME in the M3 and S4). But having a sport-truck is kinda... dumb. But maybe a car like the M550i would be able to satisfy everything. Snow driving. Family hauling. Nice for the commute. I would lose the ride-height...heck, maybe just wait for the M5? |

OP, Congrats on the car. Regarding your complaint with the HVAC . . . BMW's auto mode works differently than other makes . . . the fan speed setting is still operational in auto mode, and indicates the maximum fan speed that auto will allow. For the best A/C, make sure the fan speed isn't turned too far down.
It's actually a nice feature, as it allows some control over what the fan will do in auto. I don't want it blasting at full speed if I'm on a business call.
