So if mine is going to be build in July is there any chance it would be ok ? (+ some other minor problems solved).
The x1 i am driving now has it 5-10min when i start ac after staying on sun, it sounds like when I push some plastic thing hardly. Btw yesterday my father have been looking at new VW passat.. there were 10 in row outside and was sunny and hot weather. Funny part : it started to be cloudy and all passats started to make this sound D it was from the front mask around Vw logo, the plastic grill.. So seems not problem only in G30 |

I thought the issue on my M550 would subside given ceramic tinting on the windsheild but it happened again today and it wasn't that warm in NY. However, my car is parked in the sun for 12 hrs a day so I am sure it was still pretty warm but nothing compared to some of you in Arizona and Florida.

I had the replacement grille installed today. Let's see if the crackling noise disappears.

drove the car for 4 hours today, not 1 crackle or pop. Surprisingly, The Air Conditioner worked really good today, it was 88 degrees out. It sat in the sun for a few hours before coming home, maybe my cars plastic settled already.

Part number is 51459329561. Had this installed two weeks ago and so far it's good.

My car stays under the sun all day long on weekdays. The crackle was horrendous at first, after about a month, it's now pretty far and few in between. I can still hear it when it pops, but it's so much more muted now. Hopefully it goes away totally after it's fully "baked-in".

I think this is just what happens with new cars. I got a 430d GC in January 2016 and during the summer last year, there were a few rattles from the cabin that developed. I was going to apply the old Sonax Gummi Pfleger to the window frames as others had mentioned the windows rattling. But I didn't and the rattles etc disappeared and nothing this summer either. I think these new cars genuinely have to settle down and let the glues and plastics expand and settle.
I'll change to a 530d when my PCP is up and will have no hesitation in doing so. Only worry for me are these stories about the AirCon. The AirCon in my car is bloddy awesome so I hope BMW sort this out. |

Don't worry about AC.
When there are two guys on a forum with AC problems it seems like a lot, but it's just 2 in a 10 000... So relax, I noticed that people are obsessed by AC problems, but all the chances are you will not have any problems, and it will work great. I keep my always on lowest speed at auto settings, otherwise it's too strong. |

No offense, but you should read the manual. There is so much information and hidden features that even most experienced BMW drivers don't know about.
E.g. if you have Auto-Start-Stop enabled and you come to a stop at a traffic light, engine shuts off but then the car in front of you moves ahead a bit, so you lift of the brake, move a bit and then stop - now the engine won't stop. However, if you press harder on the brake pedal, it will |
