Sure if you don't actually mind looking at the ugly styling the Lexus cars now have.

$50 deductible and not like it covered much anyways. makes going to a non franchise to save on the price increase on a used bmw for their "CPO" worth it now

That's more reasonable than my quote, $992/month with $3k down on a $65,300 for 2017 S4. The GM even told me it is 63% residual but ~6% interest rate (BS). I laughed and told him my Porsche is cheaper than his Audi.

I've used Route66 in the past and they are fantastic.

I was never a fan of CPO just marketing BS anyways... it was overpriced and did not cover all electronics

Many users are commenting that "this will be my last BMW," but even with the new changes, BMW still offers one of the most comprehensive warranties in the market. I don't think they are cutting corners, they are just realizing that they are offering something to the market that no one else does anymore and is costing them quite a bit.

I'm glad they aren't touching new car warranty and that warranties are still transferable if there's multiple owners within the 4/50k mark. If THIS policy changes, I'll hop over to Jag or Range in a heartbeat.

Surprised that they dont even try to use smoke and mirrors with increasing drive-train warranty which mean nothing (unless rod bearings lol) and reduce the warranty that is more likely to break down.

Agreed, but for your daily drive it doesn't really matter that much. You just get a lot of grip.

I enjoy going sideways in my car but it's not something I do all the time

Yea, it's getting bad for BMW. Just keeps pushing customers away. Many people used to buy BMW over other luxury brands because of the 4 yr maintenance and now this.

The only thing I don't like about lexus is that their cars are usually the slowest among it's competitors.

I'm for sure tossing the keys back for my F80 and running straight across the street for a C63.

As stated in the link in the original post and at least 2 other posts in this thread, there is still a 2-year option.

I was considering a used M6 GC in a year or 2, not anymore!

couldn't imagine buying a 3-4 year old used M anything and only getting 1 extra year of warranty from BMW.

Why is this a big issue. Before they had 2 years /50K miles COP with $50 deductible and 1year / 25k miles CPO Elite with $50 Deductible. Now standard is 1 year/ unlimited miles with zero deductible, that can be up graded to 2 or 3 years based on your needs. Coverage is the same as before. This will actually allow dealers to certify cars with 55k - 60k + miles since no mileage restriction.
So now will have more CPO cars for less. ( MB switch to similar CPO prog a few years ago)

Some of us are looking at the bigger picture. BMW has been employing a bullshit penny pinching corporate strategy. The bean counters are in control. BMW is slowly taking away the perks of purchasing/leasing one of their cars.

It's short sighted and stupid IMO.

Eventually this will hurt their bottom line.

I looked into these for a while but went with something fast instead. Is your X5D really that problematic? I think I'm going to look at a diesel cayenne and a7 in a couple years...presuming the authorities don't pull them all off the road and crush them over dieselgate.

Just gotta buy all of your BMW's from Carmax and get MaxCare.

"What MaxCare covers:

MaxCare provides comprehensive mechanical protection. A category list of parts and systems covered in the comprehensive MaxCare plan is included below. Except for the named exclusions, you can rest assured your car is covered.

Engine
Transmission
Drivetrain

Electronics
Electrical Systems
Steering

Suspension
Cooling System
Climate Control"

"How much are carmax warranties?
Phil also told me the warranty costs range from $2,299 for 6 years/75,000 miles to $3,799 for 6 years/125,000 miles, all with a $100 deductible. "
