That is quick! I ordered my 530i about two weeks ago and it is still at 1200, according to the BMW genius I 'chatted' with yesterday.
Mine's scheduled to arrive a week after yours. |

A couple of days. It is surprisingly quick.
Before you know it it will be 8200 - released to carrier, the 9000 released from plant. then you can track it to the docks and see if yu can find the ship it is on. Ship takes about 2 days to Southampton. Then start to expect a call from your dealer.... |

Damn. I must be one unlucky customer of Arden BMW to have my order stalled at 1100 for the past 3 weeks. ?
Congrats man on getting yours through very quickly. |

FWIW I got 17% off for a cash purchase. They offered 22% if I took BMW finance but I declined. They are still eager to get the car to me ASAP - the salesman was hoping it would arrive before the end of Sept. to hit some target or other. |

Long live CarWow indeed! I don't think it's just a G30 thing - some of the smaller dealers struggle with their targets, Sytner don't hence they don't need to do big discounts. If they don't sell X number of cars by the end of the period they have to order the shortfall regardless and they end up being pre-reg's. Pre-reg's sit there till sold, losing money as time passes, so apparently it can be in the dealer's interest to lose money on a definite sale rather than end up with too many pre-reg's sitting around waiting for a buyer that will lose money anyway. |

To add, the good thing is this - so long as we know that not every dealer is willing to do that sort of discount, then we know that the car isn't 'devalued' by that level of discount (e.g. Golf R syndrome). If every dealer up and down was doing 20% off without asking for every customer, THEN I would be worried.

Long live CarWow indeed... although I got 'only' 19% - but that's probably more to it being a petrol 530i instead of diesel which currently have a bigger BMW contribution.
My build is now at 5055 also - due for delivery to dealer in w/c 09 Oct... |

Yep, I wasn't considering new - I was looking at AUC cars, but couldn't find the exact combo of colour/spec I wanted (can you ever with BMWs?) and they were advertised for more than I calculated I would pay for a higher spec new one built exactly as I wanted it.
